Mass air flow sensor on a 1996 maxima is between air filter housing and throttle body in the duct. That plug has 3 prongs. The connector plug will also have the 3 prong connector but the male prongs are on the sensor and the wire harness has 3 females that will plug into it. This connector should only have 3 wires.

The site parts fits verification was wrong this plug is for Subaru TURBO model MAF sensors. I needed one for non turbo complete different size and the refund replace policy is horrible for this if you get it wrong

It said it would fit my car and it doesn’t it wasn’t wide enough for 2002 wrx maf sensor.
