I installed this and the MAF sensor light went away drove for half a day. No issues then later in the evening the light came back with another error along with first so. Save yourself the $ and buy a branded version for your car.

It works and fixed my MAF issue.
I see where a couple of other reviewers commented that theirs broke after a month or so. I’ll update my review if that happens.
The MAF cartridge on both of my MK4 Volkswagens (2003 Jetta TDI and 2005 New Beetle TDI) is secured by a 5 lobe security bit. You can probably get the screws out with pliers, etc, but you can also get a bit set like this:
