I have an R53 Mini Cooper S that this filter was supposed to fit. The design of the filter element edges does NOT allow a proper fit into the Mini Cooper air box. The element gasket edges are too thick. This filter simply does not work as intended. Do not buy it unless you want dirt leaking directly into your engine due to improper fitment.

I ordered MANN or whatever air filter is cheaper at the time. I have been using MANN air filter over 5 years now and I do not have any problems with any of them. I really recommend replacing the air filter more often than the recommended interval pending on the area you live in, especially in a dusty area. Around $10 per filter, it is really a cheap maintenance for your car, not to mention better MPG for your car.

Fit my 2005 Mini Cooper S without much issue. I can’t verify the outer lip fit because apparently the intake box for my car has broken clips in the back so that it doesn’t seal properly (just acquired this vehicle a few months back). But it seems like it fits just like the disgustingly dirty OEM filter that was under the hood previously.
