I got this so I could charge my Makita batteries DC-to-DC from a solar battery pack (with a 12v port) while at a remote cabin (changing to AC to run the regular charger loses quite a bit in transition, so this is a much better use of power). This seems to charge at normal speed. My battery pack with a 12v port says that it was putting out about 35w while this was running.
You basically just slide this on the battery and plug in the other end – it does the job and shows via an indicator light on top when it’s done (similar to the official chargers).
So far it’s working great. Nothing complicated – just plug in and it goes.
