Today, I received the MagSafe Car Mount, Magnetic Rearview Mirror Phone Holder. The material is excellent, and it looks great, but when I attached it to the rearview mirror, it ended up right in front of my eyes, making it difficult to see the maps on my phone. I think it could be designed better—maybe positioned a little further from the face for clearer visibility. In my opinion, I don’t like this model very much.

While I was able to get the mount on the mirror, there were a few issues. The mount did not work with my ETR toll transmitter. I had to change the mirror angle for it to fit, which disrupted the rearview. The mount blocked the night flip button on the mirror, so no night mode. Finally, I wanted to use this as a kind of side extension to the mirror, get the phone up and out of line of sight, but the arm is not long enough to for this application. So, it’s a no go for me. However, it does work OK and I’m sure it would be fine on some cars, just not mine. Cheers.

this device holder is quite sturdy and easy to attach. I am quite surprised how tight and secure this is able to hold the device, and I didnt have any worry that the device would fall out of the holder. I am quite happy with how this would help keep the device and my conveience and I would recommend.

I thought this car mount was a new novel way to suspend my cell phone while using WAZE while driving. I have tried various cell phone holders and they all seem to have pluses and minuses. One of the big minuses is that they interfere with the display because they are either mounted in front of it or just above it. I thought that this one would float higher and so wouldn’t hide the display and at the same time be securely connected to the vehicle so that it would not risk detaching during driving.
Unfortunately, I was not able to deploy this mount in either of my 2 cars. Both cars have fairly deep or thick mirrors and, even when the claws of the mount are fully extended, it was very difficult or impossible to install on the mirror. Also, both cars have other modules attached to the windshield and the presence of those modules are bulky enough to interfere with various parts of this mount. It is worth noting that the claws on the mount are large so that they cover or hide the garage door opener controls which are located on the lower left edge or face of the mirrors. Finally, the spring mechanisms that extend the vertical separation of the claws were difficult to use because it required both hands to squeeze the springs while trying to fit the mount on the mirror while avoiding the other modules nearby.
Perhaps this mount would be better suited for larger vehicles with more free space. Maybe the depth/thickness of the whole unit could be reduced if the arm which connects the mirror attachment to the cell phone holder were connected to the front rather than the rear. Finally, the unit is bulky because it appears to be made entirely of plastic. If some parts of it were constructed from metal, they could be smaller and so would be less intrusive with the other mechanisms of the vehicle.

I never know where I’m going and rely heavily on GPS to get me where I’m going. I used to have one of the holders you stick to the vent but it’s so low and I do like to look at the phone for upcoming turns or estimated km before the next instruction. This holder makes it much safer to follow GPS directions because now your phone is at eye level, so you can keep your eyes on the road while easily glancing at your phone.
Assembly and installation are a breeze—pop the arm into the ball joint on the holder and attach it to your rearview mirror. No tools required, takes 5 seconds, and you’re good to go!

The phone stays securely in place thanks to the strong magnet, even on bumpy roads, so there’s no fear of it falling off. Before installing I put my phone on the magnet and gave the mount a good shake and it did not fall or budge.
If your phone or case doesn’t have a magnetic ring, a magnetic ring is conveniently included in the package. Mine is magsafe so I don’t know how well it works, but I assume it would be solid.

I recently purchased the MagSafe Car Mount, and I couldn’t be happier with it!
