Might need to file off factory length markings (raised rings/ridges) to install. Unless damaged reuse (do not remove) original rings. You do not need to remove valve body, just adjacent solenoid, go slow on reinstall and it will go back in. Now I have instant reverse and it will now reverse uphill again. Yes this is just a bandaid untill the band looses all clutch material, but will save it for now.

This fixed the reverse in my 2001 2500HD. I used the seals provided and a week later I lost reverse when transmission was warm. Disassembled and found the seals had shrunk causing internal leaks and would only engage the servo when the fluid was cold. Replaced the seals with OEM ones and haven’t had a problem since. In hindsight I should have reused the original seals as there was no issue with them

It added .233” to the end of my reverse servo pin which was exactly what it needed to hold the correct amount of pressure on the reverse band of my 1996 k2500 GMC SUBURBAN, I now have reverse and it drives amazing. Couldn’t be happier.

Worked well to repair an 01 Chevy 2500HD with 4L80e experiencing no reverse or 1st gear holding.
Measured reverse servo applied depth was close to 0.400 instead of 0.080 optimal.
Did require some thinning of the servo pin to slip on the extension which was expected and noted in several write ups and videos of the installation of this style kit.
Installed and vehicle has reverse again and engine braking in 1st gear. Also noted significantly less throttle required to get rolling from a stop. Always sounded like it was going faster than it actually was moving in the past and now the power transfer seems much smoother.
10/10, would recommend this kit.

Took care of my no reverse issue, but didn’t come with any instructions. Luckily there’s a decent video on youtube, wound up having to grind the ribs off of the servo pin to get this to press on. Mangled it up a bit trying to press it on without doing so. Sure would’ve been nice to have some instructions…
