This solved an issue with my 1st gen Tacoma. The way it was you could have started it with a popsicle stick. I tried another ignition cylinder, which worked fine, but suddenly I found I needed to have two keys, one for the ignition and another for the doors, so this little kit solved that problem. I should have thought of that!
The ignition cylinder installation is straightforward and not too difficult. Look on YouTube for how-to videos. The door locks are more difficult. You need to remove the door panels and getting the lock and cylinder in place correctly was a bit of a challenge. Once in place they worked fine. It would be good to have some extrq fasteners for the door panel and maybe a couple of door handle clips in case you break one while installing. Note that the latter come in passenger and driver side versions so make sure you order both.

I was so happy to find this on Amazon. We’ve had a 2001 Tacoma for years that had a different key for the invitation and locks, and the driver’s side lock broke so we’d have to unlock it from the passenger’s side and crawl through to unlock the driver’s side. This set took only a couple of hour to install and works perfectly. It’s nice having two keys that both work for all parts. I also had to replace the plastic handle on the driver’s side and it was a very similar install to the locks. The ignition and locks are still a little stiff as they’re getting broken in, but they all work perfectly and the ignition even seems to be more reliable now than it was. Very happy with this and glad it was so easy to install.
