This LM487 relay from is exactly what is needed when using LED bulbs in brake lights/rear turn signals. Without this LED tuned LM487 relay, your turn signals will dangerously hyper flash. Easy swap, you just pull the old one out and insert this one. Great value too.

his was exactly what I needed to stop the fast flashing! I recently went thru and replace every single light bulb on my 2003 Chevy Silverado with led bulbs. All exterior and interior lights. Looks great! However, after I changed blinkers, they started to flash fast like a light was out. Turns out the extremely low draw of the led bulbs tricks the system into thinking there’s a bulb burned out. That’s where this relay comes into play. This one is designed for the low draw of the led bulbs. So, it’s back to normal flashing! Very happy! I’ve also waited over a month to make sure it stayed working as some reviews stated failure after a week or 2. Well, it’s still going great and I drive my truck daily!

Update: Just two days after the install I went to pull my trailer and the brake lights were not working on the trailer. Turn signals working, hazards work, running lights work, but the brake lights would not work. After more than an hour searching for a bad wire, fuse etc., I finally remembered that I had just changed this flasher. I put the old factory flasher back in and all was working again. I hate having to edit a review however, people need to know. Maybe I received a bad flasher. The flasher even says ‘trailering’ on it. Thank goodness for me always checking my equipment before leaving. This could’ve caused a serious accident as people behind me cannot see my truck brake lights while I’m pulling my trailer. The one good thing this device did was to stop the hyper flash.
Original:
2005 2500HD Silverado. This device fixed the hyper flash on the turn signals. I had resistors on them and they just got so hot, I wanted to get rid of them and use this device. It works as described.

I read several reviews and I almost did not purchase this item since I use my trailer every other weekend. The 5 star reviews say it works like a charm (no mention of trailers), the low starts state they work, but not with a trailer. I bought it with the intention of swapping out the relay when I do use my trailer. (Not ideal but figured I’d rather do that than adding resistors to the wires)…. well, after using this relay and it working like it should (without a trailer) I finally hooked up my trailer and to my surprise, it worked perfectly. With this said, I do have a trailer brake controller installed in all my vehicles. I’m assuming this is the reason it works since that’s what controls my trailer brakes. With all this said, I am pleased with this item. Hope this helps a guy or two…(Installed on an 04 avalanche and tested this on a 1500 2005 silverado)
