My opinion is that this charger is outputting 12V charge voltages that are too high. I don’t think it will instantly damage your battery, but I would keep an eye on this charger, especially over the long term. Consistently over-charging a battery will degrade the electrolyte and shorten the battery life. I have not tested the LIFEPO4 charge mode yet.
I think for large car batteries, this charger is ok. Also, the higher voltages are not applied until the end of the charge and for a shorter period of time (14.9V, although I do see up to 15.1V but not for long). BUT, I also tried this charger with a compromised, old AGM battery, and it applied up to 16.2V for about 2 hours (even with GEL setting for lower Vout). This was a 12V AGM battery that is old and has elevated internal resistance. The resting voltage was about 11.5V at start, and it started charging at 16.2V (0.8A then ramping down). It ran for about 2 hours, and it did turn off. I think the charger is trying to push a minimum current into the battery, but the voltage is too high. It doesn’t do this at high current, but it is still not good.
I have had chargers in the past that were too “reserved” and seemed to turn off too soon. Out of three chargers that I own, only an older, non-digital charger that I have will always turn on and put a charge in a battery. It peaks at about 14.5V. This charger seems to peak at about 15V on my good batteries (end of charge), but if you use GEL setting, it peaks at about 14.5V (slightly less).
SUMMARY: I will still use this charger, but I will only use it in GEL mode (usually about 0.5V lower from my quick tests) and also on the 2A max setting (MOTORCYCLE symbol selected). I will also monitor the charging while it runs. This charger will ALWAYS charge your battery, where-as some of my other digital chargers are hard to start a charge operation or obtain a deep battery charge.
I have not tried the battery repair mode, or the LIFEPO4 battery charge mode, but will update if I learn any good info. Finally, the vendor was responsive and answered my questions using Amazon message support.

I tested this back to back with a name brand charger I have. I charged the battery up with the name brand to full capacity (according to that charger). Then I put this on and had to get my kid to bed. An hour and a half later I went back down and this charger was still going, displaying 1.5 amps input…. really shouldn’t be charging at all at this point. I put the name brand one back on and within a minute it displayed “full” and went into maintain mode.
I guess this charger probably charges, but if it doesn’t stop when the battery is full that is a big issue.
My recommendation would be to buy something else.

This charger is impressively user-friendly, offering a wide array of charging options suitable for various battery types. I’ve used this charger to successfully charge both a 12-volt lead acid battery and a 12-volt AGM battery, and it has performed admirably in both cases. I’ve had the opportunity to charge both a 12-volt lead acid battery and a 12-volt AGM battery with this charger, and it has performed nice. Selecting the battery type is a breeze, and the display is both intuitive and easy to understand. Throughout the charging process, it alternates between showing the current battery voltage and the amperage being delivered at each stage of the charging cycle. An LED indicator signals when it’s actively charging and another when the charging process is complete.
However, it’s important to mention that the charger’s build quality is less than optimal. The clamps have a somewhat flimsy appearance and feel, which raises questions about their long-term durability. At this point, my assessment is based on initial use, but I have concerns about the clamps’ ability to withstand prolonged usage.

I used this on a couple of large SLA batteries. It does not seem to indicate when the battery is fully charged. It also gets quite hot.
On one battery that indicated fully charged with another charger this charger indicated that it was charging at 15 volts. This is too high of a voltage, especially for a fully charged battery. This can result in electrolysis which damages the battery and can be dangerous.
I do not trust this charger.
