I don’t know exactly what this is, some sort of wax maybe? But it dries and does not stay “wet” like fluid film or similar. I used it on our RV before a trip to the black rock desert and it really helped protect from the alkaline playa dust, I could really tell on the parts I didn’t coat. About that, one can wasn’t enough for a 25′ RV, get two.

Took a risk on buying this as I could not find any reviews online, but WOW did my risk pay off!
Lippert Chassis Shield is a true miracle cure for small to moderate rusting on your travel trailer or fifth wheel frame.
I sprayed this on most of my trailer’s highly exposed parts: frame, stairs, suspension, and exterior slide components primarily to prevent rust in these areas. However, there were some places already showing premature (2-year-old trailer) surface rust from being exposed to road debris and winter road conditions on its journey from Jayco’s factory to the dealership in Canada.
If was this surface rust where the product shows, it’s true strength and value. I sprayed it on the affected areas to prevent further rust. By the time I got back to it a week later, the rust was almost entirely removed. Because it was more of an unsightly issue than a critical component, I let it sit longer. After two weeks, it just about removed all the visible rust and protected the part even in dusty conditions. Six months later after being left out and uncovered in a cold and wet Canadian winter the frame looks brand new. The product did not dry out and was still going strong. This is a must have for your annual maintenance and for treating any existing surface rust on your trailers frame.

I coated my rusty RV frame but word to the wise, don’t use this in a garage or enclosed space. The fumes are strong. As for whether it works, time will tell but I have faith. You could see the coating right away once sprayed on the frame.
