I went several years owning the car this part is in before I had to replace the part. Now in the span of 4 months I’m on the need to replace it a 3rd time.
The plastic on the socket joints is weak and brittle. It seems to break far too easily.
It would be nice if you could replace just the socket, or the socket was made of stronger material.
Considering how easy they are to break it is a good thing they are easy to install.

Perfect! I can’t believe I went so long without a tail lift. Super easy to install and has been working awesome ever since. After taking out the broken one I realized how easily these can break from trying to open our close with the switch turned on. Great price. Great product.

Ok here we go…… I have went through 4 of these. However if someone barely in the way of closing the rear hatch. It snaps. However, I am not sure if it is cheaply made. or we just don’t pay attention when closing the rear hatch.

This item looked to be pretty solid at first. I checked the gears on my wife’s 2011 GMC Acadia Denali and made sure they moved smoothly and properly before looking up this item. I purchased this on July 3rd. On August 2nd (today!) it was broke. I don’t usually buy car parts from Amazon but for $40+ I thought it was gonna be of decent quality. Not so much. I can’t return the item because the warranty was guaranteed until August 1st…not even a full month. Won’t buy again and I’d advise the same of you!
