Product works great. At least as good as stock. This product includes TWO of them, but you may only need one, because they are so strong. One alone is probably enough to keep the glass open. With two (I replaced both) it is REALLY stiff. It depends on your preference. But two of these together is a really strong lift. The glass will open quickly and require effort to close. Personally, I liked that. So I am glad I replaced both. But try it after just replacing one to see if that’s good enough for you (and then you can keep the other one as a backup).
There are no instructions, so you should probably google installation instructions before messing with them. Once you know how to do it, it’s not difficult at all. I will try to prepare people reading this better than I was prepared though:
The short of it is that there are no screws to undo…both ends are ball and socket connectors that you pop in. To remove them, you use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the metal band from the back, and then pop them out (if you are going to throw the old ones away, you don’t need to be gentle about it…you can pop the band completely off). Getting them out, I found, was easier if after loosening the band I used the screwdriver between the ball and the edge to jimmy it out. Before removing anything, loosen the nut at the “top” (the end towards the bottom of the window). You should not need to take it all the way off. After putting the new one in, be sure to align the strut as straight as you can get it.

I was looking for this item because my back door and glass window was not working I had to use a block of wood to keep it open as soon.as my husband puts this on which looked preety easy to put on……. my door open by itself and the window too !!!!!I bought one pair for both the door and window and they made my life soo much easier it works beautifully! I recommend this I bought this for a Jeep Cherokee 2007.

Solid replacement to oem liftgate struts on my 07 grand Cherokee, my only gripe is that if you just let the liftgate go after opening it doesn’t slowly come to a stop it will open and kind of bounce once it gets to the top, putting more stress on it… but if you just hold it while it opens so it doesn’t slam at the top, you have no problems, for the price you can’t beat it

This was a considerable savings over local national parts store chain. These were a perfect fit and do their job. For reference the hood on his 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo only has 1 hood shock, so he has a spare now should this one fail. My sister just purchased her jeep and wasn’t aware the rear window opened because the shocks are hidden up under the tinted portion of the read glass, so she was pleasantly surprised when I opened it. Both shocks hold the glass up perfectly, the door shocks hold the door up with no sag. Can’t beat the price.

Recipient installed these as soon as he received them! Super easy to put in-took probably less than five minutes! They work perfectly and look great! I would definitely recommend this product.

These go in easily and quickly. I used a panel nail to loosen the clip to install these (a screwdriver is too big).
I’m amazed how strong and quick these struts are. I forgot how great these were when the Jeep was newer, but after I replaced the window and hatch struts, the whole back end seems brand new all over again! Great price on something little that makes a difference.
