These lift supports cost a few dollars more than some of the others, but they are more than worth the difference! The old lift support cylinders on my SC430 would slowly, then suddenly drop the trunk lid on whoever or whatever was beneath it. A few times while loading or unloading the trunk, my back bore the weight of its fall and it wasn’t pleasant. Had it been my head I might not be writing this now! These supports from Depot appear a little beefier than even the OEM supports from KYB. They do an excellent job of assisting to power lift a very heavy trunk lid from just a foot up or so from opening position; almost like a motor would. Once up they keep the trunk lid up – way up to its maximum open position.
Seems some folks get into trouble by trying to rush this simple install job. My best advice is to follow Depot’s detailed, included directions and you can’t go wrong. Other reviewers claim they’ve replaced both supports in about 10 to 15 minutes. They’re right! I did find that a small pry-hook tool provided a little more finesse than a small screwdriver to back off the clamps that hold the old strut to its mount points but either way, once the clamps are released the old struts just pop off their mounts. Mounting the new struts just requires a quick, solid push of the end fittings onto the ball mounts and you’re done.
These Depot lifts are the best. Buy them and be happy!

These are fantastic struts. The sc430 trunk lid with spoiler is very heavy. This is the third time I’ve replaced them and these are way the best at a good price. Thoroughly recommend.

Once you figure out how to remove original lift supports installation of new lifts are easy. Lift supports work fine.

I have been dealing with bad trunk lid struts on my 2005 Lexus SC430 for years. Finally got tired of having the trunk lid hit my head or needing to use my stored umbrella for support. I Googled replacements and watched several posted installation videos. Looked like an easy inexpensive fix was at hand. I was taking my Lexus in for its normal oil change and state inspection so I requested an estimate from the dealer to install new struts. WOW, quote was $400. That was clearly a rip off, about $30 on Amazon and 10 minutes of my time. So I ordered replacements from Amazon from a supplier Lift Support Depot. They had good reviews and those I found were warranted. When my struts arrived I was concerned that the labeled SKU Part Number was PM3808, not the Amazon number PM1010, which coincides with the number on Lift Support Depot webpage part number for my Lexus. Decided to call Lift Support Depot to confirm I got the right struts before I did the installation. Searched for PM3808 on their website and got no results. Turns out they are the correct structs. Lift Support Depot had a part number issue and they renumbered these struts to a new part number PM3808, clearly not in their system yet. These are great struts and they fit perfectly. I would have given a 5 star review if they would have simply placed a slip in the shipping package stating this part number change. Literally only took 10 minutes to install which was very straight forward and easy. Very happy with the purchase.

I thought my old supports were bad (2006 Lexus SC430). I’d had them replaced a few years ago at the dealer, but they never really seemed strong. With these, the trunk lid (big and heavy) pops up without hardly any effort. Wow! Getting another set for our LS.

Picked up a really nice older Lexus SC430. During the warm summer months the trunk would stay open about 30 seconds then starts to close but as it got colder it wouldn’t stay open at all. The trunk lift struts were original I could tell by the Japanese language labels on each strut. Checked w Lexus on replacement almost $400 dollars.
Checked around on social media directed to Amazon found exactly what I needed, my SC430 has a spoiler, for under $30 with a 5 year replacement warranty.
Great directions were provided and found a couple of YouTube videos with instructions and tips to help the DYI first timer installer.
It took me longer to locate a good trunk prop than it did to remove and replace both struts. A good light and small flat head screw driver made the job simple and fast.
The new struts were done in 5 minutes and work perfectly literally being able to stop the trunk in any place you want and it doesn’t fall to the latch until you push it. The Strut Depot has a quality product at a far better price than the dealer.

I knew that I needed new trunk lift supports on my Lexus SC430 because the trunk was really hard to open and would need some strength to get it all the way up. Then it would randomly start to close on my head. I installed these new ones in about 10 minutes and it now works perfect. I now only have to start to lift the trunk and it goes all the way up. It also stays up. You have to use the handle on the inside of the trunk to close it, but half way down it closes by itself. Works like it should now. There were a few choices on Amazon, but these ones had the best reviews. I’m happy with the purchase. Thanks!
