Old Man in the Cave –
When replacing incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs in a vehicle, you most likely will need to replace the flasher. OEM flashers are usually dependent on the electrical load, which is why when a bulb burns out, your turn signals will flash much faster. The load is less because a burned out bulb doesn’t draw any electricity. If you add load, by adding a trailer and have more bulbs, the flasher will flash very slowly, so you switch to a heavy duty flasher, which is not load dependent to solve the problem.
The same thing happens when you go to LEDs. LEDs draw much less load, so you need a flasher that is not dependent on the load to control the flasher speed. That’s why you need a flasher like this Geradepart brand flasher relay.

Installed this relay today in my 2011 Ford Ranger with LED flasher bulbs. At the start it worked fine. Regular flash rates for the turn signals and emergency flashers.
About 20 miles into a trip later. The turn signals went into hyperflash mode. The emergency flashers still worked at the proper rate…for now.
I do not recommend this relay.
