This stabilizer was very basic and easy to install. Works perfect and appears to be very durable.

Easy to replace the OEM and bracket with this, just follow the instructions, but I’d liked to have kept the OEM bracket, but it wont work. So unbolt it and use the instructions to set it up and use a tape measure to get the correct measurement. Then once tightened up good and snug, have someone turn left to right at full turns and watch the travel of the rod….if it binds….then something’s off, hence why its snugged up. Once everything is correct, tighten it up securely. Thos was on a 03 F250 7.3L 4X4

Seems like a good product so far. My only complaint is that the box picture shows a boot for the shaft but there was none in the box. The price was right.

  4. Randy F. Stallion

Haven’t installed it yet, but it looks to be pretty solid. Comes with all the required mounting hardware. Since it does not include one, I purchased a dust boot separately for $8 from Monroe and it fit perfectly. All in for $50, which is about what the comparable Rancho stabilizer costs, mounting bracket and hardware not included.

Waste if money. Lasted about a month and has lost all charge and now its there fir show. Cause its cool to have a non functioning steering stablizer as i cruise the strip at 30. (Cause i cant go any faster without having my tires shake)

This did help my steering…but you will have to get on the internet to figure out exactly what to do. I had to play around with mine to make sure it didn’t rub….but overall it seems to be good quality.

  7. John Bourman

    Excellent quality, but won’t fit 2004 F250 2WD.

After receipt of this product, I was initially impressed with the size of the shock itself over the stock one I had mounted on my F350 Crew Cab. However, the joy was quickly overcome after I read the instructions and looked at the one picture of the installation that is taken from too far away to show much detail. This unit requires you to remove the stock Ford mounting plate that the OEM shock mounts to on one end. Here’s where I found my next disappointment. The OEM U bolts that hold the mounting bracket are almost twice as thick as the ones that come with this unit. After the first time mounting the new braket, I noticed that one of the two bushings that attach the shock to the bracket was compressed a lot more than the other. During bolt up, I paid attention the 4.5″ shock extension mentioned in the directions and maintained it (it does want to compress below the 4.5″ referenced) and still got the uneven bushing compression. I loosened everything up and ended up using a pry bar hold the U bolts in place while tightening the nuts. This mostly alleviated the problem but I noticed later that Ford put about a ten degree bend in their plate to avoid this. I’ll give it a few days and see how things hold up and come back to update the review.

When I bought my Excursion it was missing the steering stabilizer. This is exactly what I needed. It uses the factory axel mount on the one end and comes with a bracket to attach it to the center link on the other. Comes with all the hardware needed.

Steering shock was easy to install and came with all hardware. Fast shipping.
