Replaced front shocks on my 2004 Ford Ranger with the KYB shocks and truck rides really smooth.

Like another reviewer said, these do not fit XLT. I only noticed when I jacked up the the lower control arm to fasten all the nuts. When I lowered the bottom control arm the bolts that fasten to it literally ripped in half!! Another sign they didn’t fit was when I tried to compress both bushings..

It did not come with all the parts one of the box had been re-taped and all the bushes and everything we’re missing and nuts

These shocks were a massive improvement over the shocks my truck had. If you are wanting a stiffer ride for your Ford Ranger Edge or 4X4, these will work great for most situations. I am not sure I would recommend them for extreme off road use like rock crawling, even though they may work. But for those who have a mix drive conditions like I do from rough roads, and old dirt roads that maybe badly washed out, as well as highway driving or city driving these will be a worth while upgrade to make.

I’m a huge fan of KYB suspension components having used them on my last 3 vehicles. These are beefier than the Rancho shocks that had failed on my Ranger and fit perfectly just like I expected. The ride is so much better and safer now. I have 150 thousand kms on my last set of KYB components and they are still working great. I’ll be a KYB customer as long as I keep getting the excellent performance I’ve come to expect.

I put these on a 2011 Ford Ranger. These replaced the local auto store branded shocks that were bouncing all over after a week.
I drove this truck across country 1200+ miles through torrential rain and bumpy Louisiana roads with no issues. I use KYB on my Lexus also without any issues. These are fantastic shocks for the money at half the cost of crummy Ford brand shocks.

KYB Excel-G’s are supposedly the “go to” brand for mechanics and car enthusiasts, and they are also recommended as OEM replacements by car manufacturers. These shocks are in between soft and firm in ride quality. I have used these a few times on 2nd gen Explorers. If you want a soft ride, go for the Monroe blue shocks…but those make handling and body roll pretty bad. If you like in between soft and firm, go for these KYB Excel G’s….they handle decently but with a decent amount of body roll. Gabriel Pro Guards are firm and provide very good handling with limited body roll. KYB Gas A-Justs are very firm (to the point of where its uncomfortable) but provide the best handling with almost no body roll. It just depends on what you like.

When it comes to quality vs finances, KYB is my answer!
With a variety of tiers you can choose from you can pick the best shock or strut for your vehicle application.
With a lot of information, videos, forums and reviews it further helps to alleviate any hesitation one might have.

I own multiple vehicles and If OEM breaks they are my first choice.

    Installation was easy and enjoyable!

I was very pleased with the fit and finish of the shocks. They came with all of the necessary bolts, washers and nuts. They were easy to install.
