Well, installation was easy since someone else did it 🙂
Value, for something that will last 75,000 + miles and makes the car ride like new for about $160 a pair, that’s a no-brainer. Worn shocks are even a safety issue, the tires do much more work in cornering and braking distance gets higher.
Made in Japan, no worries about longevity and having the thing fall apart, with a cheap swap of the sway bars my car is like new again.

I was heisitant to buy them because the were no OE, but they handle great a bit stiffer than stock, but in a great way. I will buy again!

Quality is top-notch, everything fits precisely as the OEM. Installation was a serious pain though. What didn’t help was these pistons do not extend out their full length on their own, and when you do pull them out they retract back in. This is only a problem when trying to mount the top mount back on – the stud just doesn’t stick out of the plate enough to get the nut on, and I had to crank the holy-mother-of-…. out of the spring compressor to buy me enough length to start threading the nut. Even then I needed a strap wrench around the piston to push it up (between the compressed coils…ugh) enough to get the nut on. It was way more effort than it should’ve been and really required 2 people to do. And I can’t believe they don’t include a new rubber bushing/pad for the bottom plate – with how expensive these units are compared to the pre-loaded versions (that also include the top mount and the dust skirt – which here you have to buy separately), that’s pretty inconceivable. Otherwise I’m very happy with the ride quality, and hope that the vastly increased effort at installation and overall expense will be worth it over time (compared to pre-loaded struts).
