Installation instructions are useless, but if you have gotten to the point that you have determined that this is a potential solution for your particular issue, you can probably figure it out. I did not have to do any type of programming of remotes to the switch, and the manual switch on the box works currently. I have not done a long term disconnect test, yet.

Excellent battery isolator to prevent parasidic drain, also doubles as a anti theft method.

I’ve tried a couple different brands of this. This one worked perfectly the first time. Installed on a 55 Chevy worked perfectly as a second cutoff.

Looking at the other, cheaper, disconnect switches they are all lacking a critical safety feature – namely a magnetic latch relay. What is that you say? A magnetic latch relay is mechanically closed by magnets and does not require an energized coil to keep the circuit closed. With a simple electromagnetic relay the coil has to be energized to close the circuit. You see where this is going…If the electromagnetic relay loses power for any reason (e.g. vibration, heat, loose connection, etc.) then the coil will become de-energized and the relay will open, killing all power to the car. You can imagine this would be bad on a freeway going 75 mph. With this design the relay remains closed even if the power to the disconnect switch is lost.

Right now I’m so happy about this product. It worked right out of the box. I bought this battery kill switch because I have a parasitic drain on my Subaru. It has become so frustrating trying to locate the parasitic drain that I ended up finding this switch. By all means I didn’t resolve my problem but this product brought relief of knowing I wouldn’t have a dead battery every time I wanted to use my suv. Easy to install, under five minutes. Must have if you have something pulling your battery down after shutting the car off.

Very very disappointed. It is big and clumsy when trying to fit in my little car. Think carefully about how your battery sits in your vehicle. It did not fit in my car.

Love the key fob!

My 1980 MGB has its battery located in the cabin in a compartment behind the passenger seat. The need for a battery disconnect is predicated on the fact that this car is only used in the summer months and even then, is only a fair weather cruiser. The disconnect will help make sure that the battery has a full charge when I want to start it. I wanted a battery disconnect switch that was easy to access, robust and, hopefully, easy to install without drilling holes in my car. This unit checked all of those boxes. This unit was a bit more expensive than most others but, since I didn’t need to buy at least one additional battery cable to hook it up, cost wasn’t much more than a quality, conventional disconnect switch. And, when factoring in ease of installation, this one seemed a clear choice. It works completely as described and I can keep one of the key fob remotes handy for ease of operation.
I hope that it works many years in this classic, British sports car.

It was used for a golf cart. The battery was not a top mount. It had the type had a bolt through it. I had to Change the amount around to use it. It works really good.
