The purpose of the knock sensor is to sense unusual pulsations caused by the engine knock or detonation. Symptoms of a bad knock sensor are check engine light CEL on, loud sounds, bad fuel mileage, poor acceleration and poor engine performance. It fits in place just fine, but my sensor only lasted a month and a half before essentially falling apart in the same way the original one did. Just buy an oem sensor and save yourself the headache of tearing the intake off multiple times. Don’t waste your money or time. After installing, the sensor worked, but the plastic separated from the metal portion over time and caused my car to throw a couple codes and run in limp mode.
