Also, less throttle is needed on the freeway, which should mean better fuel economy. A little harder to install because the K&N gasket is made of a stiffer material than normal filters. I have a 2001 Ford Econoline 150 with the 4.6 V8. When checking out you have the option of an outer box; I didn’t choose that and my filter arrived in a bag, slightly crushed…
I also got a panel style K&N for my 1.9 BMW Z3, and the difference was even more dramatic, like adding a turbo.
