I use this in my school transport, it has never lost or gained a minute and I’ve never had to plug it in.
The solar cell does an amazing job at keeping the battery charged.
It’s bright enough and easy to read in any lighting conditions.

The device itself is pretty good. Easy to read even on very sunny days, adjusts brightness in low light. My only real wish is that there would be a way to disable the scan between time and temperature (celsius only). The temperature is meaningless since the device is always in the sun, under glass.

I received this yesterday, so I cannot speak to its long-term reliability. However, I would like to make a few points. It is smaller than described. About 4 inches wide instead of the 6.3 inches in the description, which fits nicely on my dash. I chose the “warm light” color. Gold really, and this fits well with my other dash lights. The more popular green would have looked much more like an added, non-factory accessory. It started working right out of the box; however, I did charge it further before installing. It took about two hours. Yes, the instructions are poorly translated from the Chinese. As with many other consumers, I wish that the Chinese manufacturers would simply find a native English speaker to write their instruction manuals. Too proud, I suspect. In any event, If you have trouble with the directions find a 14 year-old to do it for you. I’m 72 and I managed. I set it so that only the time shows. I would have included the temperature, but it will only show that in Celsius. I don’t need the date and year, so I passed on that, too. My car does have a factory clock, but it is small and poorly placed. This does the job. I’ll post a follow up in a year or so if I have any further comments or problems. If you don’t see a follow-up then so far, so good.
UPDATE (1/28/2024): The clock looked great on my dash and was easy to place and read. Early in the winter it stopped because it was not getting charged by the sun. I live in the Chicago area. Many overcast days and many days spent in the garage due to inclement weather. I had to bring it in and do a USB charge. I replaced the tape with Velcro dots. This makes it easier to remove to charge when necessary and to change the time easily,

I can easily see – day or night – the time, date, day of week, and temperature. Nice simple, elegant design. Perfect for my older car that lacks this information.

Really nice design, instructions are a little hard to understand but got there. Only real issue is it only does temperature in Celsius. Would be nice if it did fahrenheit. Will install today and see how it works in the winter cold.
