The media could not be loaded.

As others have said, they do what they’re supposed to do. I tried it on a lawnmower; it helps with a weak battery (see video). The only complaint I have about build quality is at this price point where the wires coming out there should be rubber reinforcements, so the wire will not be cut over time (see picture). Where the battery connects to the body, it is very solid. It does come in a little carrying case but the aesthetic of the case are that of some binoculars and not that of some jumper cables. Even at that I’m glad it came with a case versus none at all so it can be stored easily.

Let me start out by saying this is great for small engines i would say four cylinders and small six cylinders would be about as large an engine as i would want to jump start with a Milwaukee battery. any larger and you would likely cook the battery with a large amp draw. But if you are looking for something to jump off a lawnmower or small machine like a mini ex or bobcat this would work well for that. the cables are of acceptable quality and thickness and the clamps gave a good bite to them when hooking them up. i would recommend using a 6ah battery or bigger and nothing smaller. you may risk damaging the battery.

This Milwaukee tool battery to jump starter cables is an innovative idea that sounded like a winner to me. While the jump starters now available have smart cables with multiple electrical protection built in, Google searches often come up with statements that the actual amperage and milliamp hours (Mah) are frequently over-rated, and that the batteries should be recharged about every three months because the batteries will drain down to 50%. The top brand lithium ion tool batteries tend to hold their full charge.

This jumper is designed and operates differently, and the instructions are contradictory on the first key step. The manual and the click on images say to hook up the cables as step one, and then connect the battery adapter to the starter cable adapter. And they warn you to follow this exact sequence or risk danger to both the equipment and yourself due to overload or shorting out. The bulleted points in the write-up below the title of the listing say to connect the charger adapter to the battery, and after that, to hook up the two cables to the battery. Which one is right? The amount at stake here is very high risk. It makes more sense to me to put the adapter on first and then connect the cables. This charger operates differently. The “manual” says you should leave the hooked up adapter and cables alone for two minutes which then transfers the amperage and volts to the depleted battery. They add that first attempt does not start the engine, to leave it charging for three more minutes and try again. This is not in the listing. The web page states that the jumper is good for all kinds of cars, including SUV’s and pick-up trucks. Hidden in the images to click on the left and hidden in the last paragraph of the last page of the instructions is the recommendation that the jumper should not be used on gas engines higher than 5.0 liters or diesel engines of 3.0 liters.

Build-wise, they should have made the adapter connection stronger, with thicker copper prongs if possible. The cables are 8awg according to the listing, but they look more like 10Awg to me; and the two wires are not encased together in a very thick rubber covering as most jumper cables are. I don’t see any need for 6 1/2 foot cables when nearly all jumper boxes use short plug-in cables of about 10 inches length. That means much more resistance and voltage drop for the long cables. I’d much rather that they used heavier duty cables 4awg or 6awg, and maybe a two foot length. They state that these are not drop down voltage design, thus the full 18 volts are going into the battery which is designed for 14.4 volts. They then present some safety parameters in the photos below the listing, which are not mentioned in the write-up or in the instructions. Two of those are alarming to me and to the Google AI results: Voltage: 600 V, Safety current: 33 A. Perhaps these are close to what the jump box starters have, but the Google search states that the safety current of 33 Amps is extremely dangerous, especially when combined with a very high voltage of 600.

I bought a battery converter adapter for my Ridgid advanced tech high power 6 amp and 8 amp batteries. These have not dropped their charge at all in over a year. I bought these jumpers to keep in my large three quarter ton pickup with a 6.0 liter engine–an engine size I later discovered exceeded the recommended maximum. There are no protective electronics in the booster as there are in the booster boxes. The two prong connector to the Milwaukee battery top adds resistance. Using the Ridgid 18 volt to Milwaukee M18 battery converter (updated) adds another point of resistance and possible overloading for this jumper application which is not present in using that adapter for Milwaukee power tools or other devices such as LED lamps, USB chargers. I am not going to risk using this on my 3/4 ton GMC truck, but will carry it in my 3.5 Liter Toyota Tacoma as a back-up. And I intend to ask an electrician or cordless power tool expert for his/her opinion and advice. With such an extreme voltage and current flowing into the battery of my high tech Toyota, I’d like to know whether there is a risk to the truck’s electronic system. I don’t think I’d have any problem trying it on an older SR-5 or 6 cylinder Blazer with the old fashioned distributor, points, and coil and traditional fuel pump. I would not recommend it to anyone with a large liter engine, and be cautious, finding out if there is any risk to modern high tech electronic systems as well as any risk to using this with a battery to battery adapter. I don’t know enough to properly evaluate the safety issues on me, or the potential to damage vehicle electronics. I’m giving it a rating of three stars rather than two, due to this uncertainty.

This is meant to fit a Milwaukee 18v battery in order to fit alligator clips to it. This could be used possibly to jump start a small car or small engine like a motorcycle. I wasn’t going to use it for that. I would rather just use this to get 18v for testing electrical devices and things in my shop. For this purpose, it works well. The wire is only 10 gauge so I wouldn’t want to jump a car with that but I suppose it could work. It comes with a nice soft case with nice rubberized texture on the outside. This is nice to keep the device in for storage in a toolbox and keeps it from getting damaged.

This jumper cable set works with my Milwaukee 18V batteries and gives me an easy way to start trucks or mowers with weak batteries. It’s compact, simple to carry, and powerful enough to get equipment running again. Especially helpful out on the farm where a dead battery can really slow things down.

These jumper cables, designed to work with Milwaukee 18V batteries, are an effective solution for jump-starting dead or weak batteries. Measuring 8 gauge and 6.5 feet long, they provide a solid and secure connection. By connecting them to the 18-volt batteries, I was able to easily jump-start a small, 4-cylinder car. They feel sturdy and of good quality, giving me confidence in their durability. Although I haven’t tested them on larger vehicles, they worked perfectly for my car. Plus, they come with a handy carrying bag. I definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable and portable option. They worked like a charm!
