Nice looking but it is a little thin on the metal .Had to modify some of the brackets.

good buy. looks good too

Very sturdy item. Better than I thought. The top arm was a little longer than my battery but still worked fine. Wish the top was adjustable but overall worth then money.

Great product 👍🏽🎉🎉

Got two of them for my trailer’s new inverter system. Easy to configure and install!
Robot Ron –
Larger than I was expecting, wish they had one size smaller. Had to modify slightly

This is pictured with an Advance Auto plastic battery tray on top. Other than not including the hardware to bolt it to the car this met my expectation.

I buy and use Jegs products fairly often. Most of the time I am pretty impressed with their products. This battery tray is one of the few things I feel like they put out half-baked.
Pros:
The tray itself is good quality metal and is very sturdy. There are a ton of options to bolt or screw it to a surface with enough depth to allow the bolt or screw head to be below the tray level so the battery isn’t resting on them getting damaged. Having said that, I still cut a small section of rigid foam sheet to cushion the bottom of the battery. This thing isn’t going anywhere though. I can put quite a bit of force on it without it deflecting which is what I wanted for a trunk mounted battery tray. The powder coating is good and the two ‘J-bolts’ that bear the stress of holding the battery down are good thick diameter metal.
Cons:
As others have said, the ‘J-bolts’ used to hold the battery down to the tray are really long. I get what Jegs is trying to do here. They want to support an array of battery sizes so it can be used to create a new battery mount for relocating (like in my case) or replacing an existing tray that got rusted out. I am using a group 34 battery (an inch shorter than group 24 w/ same footprint) so that makes it all the worse. As supplied, the threads didn’t go down far enough for me to tighten the battery adequately. That’s on me, Jegs doesn’t advertise support for group 34 batteries. I ended up cutting about 4-5 inches off of the J-bolts and using my die to clean up the top of the bolt and cut more threads into them. Problem solved.
*** My major issue with this tray and why I gave it 3½ stars is the tie down bracket itself. This thing is a joke. Its actually a 3-part piece. You have the bracket itself, with thin metal channels running down the sides, and what look like postage stamps with a 90 degree bend on the end to fit into the channel. The tie down bracket bent under finger tight wingnuts. No way I was comfortable taking this thing to a track, let alone over a speed-bump. I ended up replacing the tie down bracket with a solid aluminum piece that works WAY better. So much of this product is done right. WHY CUT CORNERS HERE JEGS? With that one piece out of the picture, I would have given this 4-5 stars but I feel like this is such an integral part of the product, it just doesn’t feel like a completed battery tray as-is.
I have included pictures of the flimsy battery tie down bracket I’m talking about and what I replaced it with. I just need my disconnect switch and it should have no problems passing tech.
