Before buying you should have proper expectations before using it. This will not bring a battery back from the dead. However it does a very nice job of charging a battery properly and giving you a look into some data. In the chart you can see that it charged the battery evenly but of course since the battery is 12 years old the voltage drops off soon after. I also appreciated that the charger will save the info. So you do not need to be connected to the charger with your phone the whole time to get the data graph.

We have trucks, tractors, golf carts, and a piece of land that seems to drain every battery around here. We own tender/maintainers, but this one is by far my absolute favorite.
Both the power cord and the cables are super long. That always comes in handy at our barn when we try to use these from sporadic power outlets.
You can use this on 6 volt or 12 volt batteries. It has 8 stages that range from battery assessment, charging, and finally maintaining. It has built in features to keep from continuing to charge an already full battery.
Now, for the technology part. There is a bluetooth app! The app provides a range of current and historical information. As long as you are in bluetooth range, you don’t even have to get off the couch to check the charging process or access a battery’s current status. That absolutely blows my mind. That feature alone makes this a valuable tool, but coupled with the versatility and safety features makes this a must own if you have equipment or toys.

For the price, I think it’s a pretty good automated charger. It does a pretty good job of bulk charging, and maintenance of battery. Pretty nice iPhone APP too, not perfect, but for the price, I think it does alright.

This charger is powerful for a trickle charger and great when you have a variety of battery types to charge. The bluetooth feature is nice but it be great to have a wifi feature instead. Unfortunately this charger only has clamps to connect to batteries, unlike most trickle chargers that also have a plug connection which allows to hard wire the charger. This limits its use, I cannot maintain my motorcycle battery because it is hidden in a compartment and I would have to remove the battery to connect the clamps. The charger also provides limited status info on the display. So unless you use the app, it won’t really tell you what the charger is doing.

I work at home – ever since we went home in March 2020 for “two weeks to flatten the curve.” I love it, but because of that, I don’t drive my car that often anymore (my wife prefers that we take her big comfy car instead of my little sporty car). So, for a while there, when I would get in my car to go-dog-go, the battery would be dead. It could be jump-started and charged, but the parasitics in the car would drain it in the weeks that it would sit idly by. So, a trickle charger was needed. Which I got. Not this one. Another one. But when I saw this one, I was impressed with the extra functions that it had to diagnose and remediate batteries. So I got it and hooked it up to my car. It promptly told me that my battery was fully charged, so it instantly went into its mode 7 trickle charge mode (I removed my old trickle charger two minutes before hooking up this new one). So, can it do all the other functions that it says that it can? I have no idea, and I’m not keen on letting the battery in my car die in order to check it out. I was hopeful that I could record charging data on my phone using the Bluetooth app but, even though my bedroom where I work is less than 30 feet from the car, I don’t seem to be able to connect to the charger at that distance. Shame. Regardless, this charger does what I need it to, so I’m sufficiently pleased. Recommended.

Using the app, you can monitor the stages of battery testing/charging, which is helpful when you need to be doing something else. It gives you an initial read of battery strength and then goes through its various stages, such as fast charging, slow charging, trickle until it’s complete. It even tells you when you’re done—such as at the end of stage 7 and it’s unnecessary to do stage 8. Very handy in a particular situation when we didn’t know a car’s battery was getting low. Remote start—important in the winter time—wouldn’t work because the charge was too low. We’d driven the car a lot but only for errands—nothing over a half-hour. I put this device on the battery and found out it was at 25%. Got it fully charged and voila! Remote start works again.
At first, I had trouble changing the charger’s mode from 6V to 12V battery. The device doesn’t work if it senses it’s not set for the correct battery—a good thing. I had plugged it in, made sure the app was connecting and then tried to change the mode. It wouldn’t. So I unplugged the device. Without hesitating after plugging it in, I mashed the mode button so it would switch. This worked.

As someone else noted, this product is not designed to resurrect a dead battery. Its job is to keep you (alive) battery functioning at a high level for as long as possible. And it does that very well. Very useful data for those with some expertise in batteries and how they function. That’s not me. I’m just happy to keep it charged so the battery doesn’t break.

This charger is ok, it works well, the app allows you to monitor the battery and how it charges.
It’s only 4amps, so its use is trickle charging or using it for lower capacity batteries.
