I bought a few battery tenders at Costco.. This extension cord allows me to hook it up to my less driven vehicles which are outside, and keep the $50 chargers inside the garage, safe and dry. There are less expensive extension cables, but I went for the larger #14 wire gauge due to it’s higher current capacity. Made in China, seems to be of very good quality. I’d recommend it.

I noticed in a lot of reviews that people had issues with polarity being reversed on this cable. With my cable, this was not an issue. It is possible to hook the cable up with polarity reversed, if you hook the cable up backwards. SAE cables are two-wire and have an L-shaped connector on each end with a male and female on both ends. On one end the male is exposed and associated with the red wire. On the other it’s reversed: the male is exposed and associated with the black wire. Just make sure that the end coming out of your charger is connected to the end of this cable with the colors lining up (red-red, black-black) and you’ll have no trouble. If it helps once you’ve figured out which end is which, mark your cable “wall” on one end and “bike/boat/car/etc” on the other end.

I added this to my solar panel that charges a car battery. Now I can place the unit anywhere I want to catch more sun. Be very careful which end you connect because using the other end switches polarity. Double check it and leave it connected so you don’t mix ends up.
