Does not work in an 01 Chev Express as website claims. The barrel is a different shape than the original one so the vehicle only fires once then shuts off. Will not run.

Good product, easily installed if you watch a video on youtube. I installed the product in my 98’ GMC Jimmy after losing the key for the original cylinder. Upon completion of the install the car would start for a second then stall. I can only assume that this aftermarket piece triggered the anti theft somehow. Fortunately for me, i found the keys to the original and reinstalled that. If i hadn’t found the keys though, my next move would’ve been to purchase the $70 version of this product from autozone and hope this was a get what you pay for scenario.

i spent days trying to figure out why my daughter’s truck would not start after installing this. i did the 1o min 3 X times over and over. disconnected the battery, nothing worked. frustrating after days of trying different things. i put the old damaged one back in and the car ran. so i went to oreilly’s and bought one there. the truck fired right up with no issues. glad i did not tow to the dealer like just answers wanted me to do. the magnet on this one was not powerful enough for the sensor to pick it up. so the truck thought it was being stolen and kept cutting off injector pulse.

magnet in key housing wrong put car in security mode when installed!!! installed magnet from old lock no security issue then
