it fit, second try, first one was for a 6 cyl. description is identical to 8 cyl, except the picture. gotta watch closely on these generic parts, easy to confuse, you start looking for quicker shipping dates, and your suddenly on the wrong part.

worked for what i need it to, looked like it was dropped in shipping, the cap was broke, and the rotor base metal was bent, needed it in a hurry so just reused my old cap and rotor and bent the metal base for the rotor back straight to be able to use it again

Installed easily. During a shakedown trip before my long trip the truck started to run rough. A lot of miss-fires, with the number steadily increasing (120 mile trip). One hour to pull engine parts and locate problem. The connector on the distributor was 1/16″ too long, preventing the wiring harness from fully seating. I scavenged the connector from my old distributor and installed it. I had to leave the following day for an 900 mile trip or I would have returned the distributor for a refund. At least the price of the unit was reasonable for the parts I received. The cap that comes with the unit has copper contacts, which was a plus.
