Took the points out and threw them away put this on and runs fantastic

Bought for an old Montgomery Ward chipper/shredder from the 60’s or 70’s. Installed perfectly in place of the existing old coil that requires points. Had to make a new kill wire to connect to the kill circuit- no big deal. Used paper folded over 3x to set the gap. to the flywheel.
Started first try. Highly recommended.
Great AEG only had one issue with the bolt catch not working then breaking but other then that good gun –
Made my little Briggs run again and upgraded it to electronic ignition

I removed the old part and installed this. Cleaned pulley due to rust build up, Hooked up new part and didn’t get spark. Set my gap and connected wire from switch straight to ground but no luck. Haven’t messed with it since. Either faulty part or something else is the problem

Bolted right up to my 5hp briggs rototiller engine..Need to run a wire for the kill switch but no big deal.Works as advertised.

At first I replaced the coil and gapped to about .020. didn’t have any spark. I then watched a quick video and soon realized not only did I have it on backwards but was gapped too much. I installed with the kill switch tab facing the block and then gapped to .010. she cranked right up…ran like a champ….Thank you Amazon for having this part and thank you to YouTube for the tuber that shared his video…..
