I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of these coil packs and didn’t anticipate that they would all function effectively. To my satisfaction, they did. However, installing them on the Ford 5.4L engine proved to be quite challenging. The curved boot design coupled with the intricate horizontal plug-in orientation at a 45-degree angle from the bolt placement made the installation process a nightmarish endeavor. This unique plug-in and bolt configuration, resembling the 3 o’clock to 7 o’clock positioning, created an extremely awkward angle.
It’s noteworthy that due to the horizontal orientation of the plug-in, unlike the OEM setup, replacing coil pack #4 was not possible, so it was not used – so you will have to keep the original coil. The electrical plug of #4 couldn’t reach the required position, and accessing #8 involved contending with the interference posed by the brake booster line, so it was literally hard-pressed into the socket. Hindsight, I would have probably kept the original coil there as well. Adding to this, the design of the boot does not provide comprehensive protection for the spark plug hole. Over extended periods of usage, there’s a significant possibility of dust and dirt accumulation within the spark plug cylinder. A prudent practice would be to utilize an air can to clean the area when swapping out coil packs in the future.
Despite the installation challenges and potential dust concerns, it’s worth acknowledging that these coil packs all functioned flawlessly and exhibited satisfactory performance. I must emphasize that while they served as a temporary solution during a financial constraint, I ultimately replaced them with a full OEM set for long-term assurance. In situations where budget constraints or time-sensitive scenarios come into play, these coil packs do offer a viable option that delivers decent performance. However be prepared for twice the labor for installation – it is a PIA!!

These ignition coils were a perfect fit, and relatively easy to install. It took me about 40 minutes to install them all. The car had a significant miss in one cylinder, and since there is 128K miles on it, I thought that I would change all 8. The Expedition now runs great!
