Replaced existing magneto, new one required minor file work in one bolt hole to get proper spacing from flywheel, but was only off by 0.5 mm
Someone who didnt have narrow files may not be able to make it work. Not sure if this is a QC issue or attempt to make it fit too many models. In the end it worked.

Worked perfectly. Just what I needed

This fit my Homlite SXL model 10045C chainsaw. It replaced the black Phelon coil perfectly and the saw started right up. For anyone purchasing know that my fly wheel had two magnets with varying polarity.
Edit: Previously I had a negative review but after taking another look at my saw it ended up I had a spark plug issue. Cleaned things up and now it runs great.

Work very good on my Homelite XL 12

Bandit weed eater fixed. Had to file about 32nd of an inch of the engine frame to get the adjustment out of the slots but not a big deal. Was just happy to get the old friend running again. Did not want to buy a new weed eater, not made like the old ones.

I bought this for a 30+ year old Homelite weed trimmer I inherited from my dad. The part arrived less than a day from when I ordered it, but was a little different than the photo. It was missing a terminal and associated ground wire the original one had, but it still had the terminal for the stop button wire. I didn’t even bother to set the gap with the flywheel, just making sure it didn’t rub. Install took about 5 minutes. I only ran it for a few minutes. but the trimmer started on the first pull and stopped when I pressed the stop button.

Homelite chainsaws are a pain to work on. The fear that I was chancing it with an aftermarket coil was real. Unfounded though. One pull on the cord with a coil tester on laid that fear to rest. I primed the fuel system and the saw fired up on the first pull.

Fixed problem with saw not turning off

Mounting holes are not long enough to position sufficiently close to the flywheel to work. I elongated the holes with a file, but also, the radius of the laminated metal bar doesn’t match up with that of the flywheel. I now get a weak spark, instead of no spark – but the goal was a well running chainsaw, not a barely running one. I’ve messed enough with this cheap ignition module and will try something else (toaster oven) to restore the original module.
