Great upgrade from the old Duraspark system. Pair this distributor with a good set of HEI plug wires and you’ll love it.

I’ve installed about 3 of these on early SBF engines (289/302) they work great, easy to instal and wire, I do wish that they would come with a pigtail for the power and tach, but that’s easy enough to get around. If you’re installing one for the first time be aware of how much larger (diameter and height) these are than a stock distributor. They will interfere with a large air cleaner and you may need to change the heater inlet hose barb or the upper radiator hose outlet. The distributor has a large enough diameter that the locking lugs can hit either of these when trying to time the engine stopping it from turning freely. It all depends on what intake you’re running. These work well, but it’s not always a ‘drop it in and go’ solution.

This distributor was defective right out of the box. I ended up having to reuse my old distributor. By the time I fully figured out that it was defective and the reason for my issue I now come to find out that I don’t have an option to return.
