Every time I think I’m gonna save a few bucks by trying out another internet favorite brand, I end up right back to a set of Hawk 5.0s. Are they pricey sure, but you get what you pay for with brakes and lets be honest you have all of about 1sq foot of material stopping your 3,000lb vehicle. Spend the money and make sure that tiny section of brake material is the best you can get!

I found these brake pads through the Jeep SRT forum and after reading the reviews and feedback, decided to give these a try. I had my local Jeep dealer install these on my 2014 SRT. Upon completion of installation, the service writer called me and informed me that his technician stated the new pads “squealed like a school bus” – I proceeded to go back on the forum and read a number of ‘things to do when installing these new pads’ such as clean the brake pads and discs with a strong brake dust cleaner, sand your rotors with a fine grit sandpaper, or bed your brakes. Most of the feedback seemed to point to bedding the brake pads properly.
Sure enough, when I started driving off from the dealership, these things started screeching like an old rusty bus! The squeal would actually occur when I wasn’t braking…hitting the brakes stopped the noise. I turned down a private street and just started the brake pad bedding process. Go 35 mph and come to a moderate stop. Do this 4 or 5 times. Then go 45-50mph and HIT THE BRAKES HARD! Seriously…make the ABS put in some work and make your tires screech to a stop. Do this about 3 more times. If you don’t smell the brake pads burning some of that ceramic off, you’re doing it wrong!
Guess what? Bedding the brake pads fixed the squeal. I’ve never had an issue since. The only reason I give it 5 stars is that they do not grip AS fast as the OEM pads…but the trade off is they generate about 75% LESS brake dust. And you avoid the sudden whiplash stops that the SRT’s Brembo brakes have the ability of causing. All in all, I’d opt for these again but if there’s something that brakes as good as the OEMs and gives off the same amount of brake dust as these, I’d be all over those!

Replaced the OEM brakes on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with these and they are fantastic. The OEMs had fantastic stopping power – 10/10. I’d give these a 9.5/10.
I was worried about squealing – even my mechanic had cautioned me about a potential squeal. I followed the online suggestions and bedded them in following this process:
60 -> 10 hard stop
40 -> 10 hard stop
20 -> 5 hard stop
I have had NO SQUEALING with mine. May be a combination of my kick-@ass mechanic, the bedding and just luck but they’ve been superb.
The primary reason for the move to ceramic was due to the INSANE amount of brake dust from the OEMs. It has been about 2 months since I got these installed and you could BARELY see any dust. My expectations were completely exceeded.

On a 2010 Cadillac CTS-V these pads have about 90% percent of the total bite of the stock Brembo pads but have 10% of the dusting. These also do not wear the front rotors out nearly as fast. They are extremely quiet and smooth operating as well when compared to stock. I would say these would cost you about a tenth of a second or two at the track but, on the street what you gain will easily outweigh what you lose.

I bought these brakes for the sole intent of getting rid of brake dust that was accumulating seemingly in minutes on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT black chrome wheels. I can go several days of in town driving and barely see a difference in shine now.
On to performance. I have done a decent amount of testing using my HUD, and these actually out performed my stock brakes by a few feet especially after a few warmups. These things really stick. Although I haven’t done a track day with it, I’m sure brake fade will come into play long after the the stock pads would have.
Long story short, I recommend these pads. Its a little extra money spent that will keep your wheels clean, give you some extra performance, and by several accounts last longer than a semi metallic pad will, which will offset the extra cost.

Installed on my Camaro SS1LE with no issues. Took longer to jack up car and remove wheels. I installed these pads on the front brakes. Small issue sliding pads in, took pliers and squeezed the pad wear indicators inward, problem solved. They bedded easily and brake dust is minimal. I think they stop even better than the factory Ferodos. I’m using Smartwax rim wax and that helps keep the dust to a minimum. After one week driving with these pads, I brown dust is finally gone.

Replaced my stock Brembo pads for these on my
15 GC SRT and am very happy. No squeal, way less brake dust. Stopping power is not as good as the factory Brembo pad but that’s understandable with the less brake dust the Hawk gives. I will be using these pads and recommending them to my friends for when maintenance is due.
If I had tons of extra cash I’d replace Brembo every time but for $255 shipped to my door these are wonderful Hawk pads. I have 45,000km on mine already and they have tons of life left. My Brembo’s lasted me 50,000km and we’re almost paper thin.

Good stopping power, if you can handle the noise, there a great pad

I purchased these pads as replacements for the OEM pads which were completely worn down. I went with this particular compound because the OEM Brembo pads were a brake dust nightmare. Literally, the day after washing and driving my car, the front rims would changed from shiny, silver clean to filthy gray. The stopping power seems on par with the OEM pads and they are a little quieter when braking. I haven’t experienced any squeaking of any kind. I push my car hard and these pads don’t disappoint.

Installed on my 2013 ZL1 Camaro. Gave up a little braking power, but I do not run my car on the track. Dust is almost zero!! No noise or other issues noted in 200 miles of driving.
