I didn’t hook up the generator cutout wites, but it didn’t make a difference in the way it works. I recently retired from the military in the spring of this year and made it a point that I would enjoy the boat I bought last year as much as possible. Half way through the summer, my battery switch went bad on one side so I decided to replace the switch. I went to the place where I bought the boat and they ordered the wrong switch at 3x the cost. When I complained, they said they would order direct from the manufacture at a fraction of the cost. (if your thinking what I’m thinking, why didn’t they go there first). Anyway they placed the order and said it would take five days tops. Two weeks later no part and no status. Mean while the fishing season is booming and slipping away with my boat in dry dock. I even tried going through local stores, all saying the same thing, we have to order it and it will take five days.
So I decided to take a chance and look for it on amazon.com and low and behold their it was at a fraction of the cost. What was more surprising was that it was in stock and I could have it in two days. Enough said and the deal was done. The product was easy to install with a unique design that makes identifing the switch position during night time fishing easy. Oh and by the way, two days after I installed the switch I went to the dealer to get a refund and the part just came in. It’s a sad day for boat dealers when a web based company can deliver a part quicker then they can especially a part they should have in stock. Thanks amazon for putting me back on the water.

This battery switch was a perfect replacement for the original unit in my 2005 Scout boat. The original lasted 15 years until I inadvertently reversed the battery polarity and shorted the switch out. My fault. I replaced it with this identical one in 45 minutes. Great price, arrived in 2 days.

I am completely satisfied with this product. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to install. Be sure to follow the installation diagram. What is nice is that the switch allows me the to shut off both batteries to ground to eliminate any power drain. Plus if one battery gets low I can select both batteries to start my motor. It has been installed for four seasons without any trouble.

Nice quality switch. I replaced an eight year old Guest switch and the mounting holes on the new switch lined up perfectly. Terminals underneath were also the same configuration as the old switch. All in all, an easy installation.
