The mechanic couldn’t even install it it was so bad. They took it back at least so praise God.

The boots were torn on the old CV axle. This new one appears to be nicely made, I hope it can go 140k miles like the original. If you install this on a Taurus (2001 in my case), do your self a large favor and check on YouTube for how to slightly drop the sub-frame on a Ford Taurus, the extra inch or two of control arm travel that this allows saves hours of straining and cursing trying to get the ball joint back in its hole at the end of the control arm. Search on “Shortcut – 99 Ford Taurus Front Strut Replacement – Lower Subframe”. Follow the video’s instructions closely so you don’t strip the bolts holding up the subframe.
