I did research foam cannons before buying this one and it has paid off. I am very pleased with all features of this Griot’s Garage brand. Very well made comes with all the fittings you will need even a sample of their foam to try and I was very impressed.

In terms of overall performance it’s fantastic. I’ve had cheap foam cannons in the past and the Griots is so much better that it’s not even close. Leaves a thick and rich foam on the car (if you get the mix right).
My only complaints are that it’s really top heavy and will fall over if it’s empty and you so much as look at it. The other small gripe is that it gets quite splattery if you try to put it on the widest fan selection, so I usually leave the adjustment a quarter turn from the widest fan.

No need to spend anymore than this for a foam cannon. I own an Active 2.0 pressure washer so I’ve only used the 1.25 nozzle but have constantly produced thick rich foam that dwells on the car surface for a good amount of time. Regardless of the quality of shampoo I’ve used. I love that I can just plop this canon straight onto a shampoo bottle and use it that way.
This cannon does not advertise that it has a metering feature like it’s pricier older brother, the Griots Boss, but it does. The suction ball has an indent where you could insert a metering tip for usage straight from a soap bottle. Outstanding!! Some has raised concerns about the pickup ball rust, When I’m done I just leave the lid off and let it hang dry. Rust has not been an issue. Comes with two nozzles so for anyone using a pressure washer that outputs 1.1, 1.2 gpm this would be a great option as well. I can not see spending any more than this b/c the Griots Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon comes with everything one might need for great foam output.

Prior to purchasing this inspired by a car detailing product video on YouTube I was using a garden hose foam cannon.
The cannon was useless and did not produce a good foam lather at all, thus wasting foam cleaner.
The Griot’s Garage 51185, produces an excellent foam which clings and dwells for at least 15 minutes.
For it to fit my Gerni pressure washer I need to purchase some aftermarket fittings to attach it to the stock lance, it was well worth the time and money to do so.

Great foam cannon. Shaving cream thick foam. Just use their red Brilliant foam soap (red bottle) or your choice of snow foam soap. The metering tips from their BOSS foam cannon will fit this guy also. Metering tip allows you to pour the full soap concentration into the jar without any extra water & let the gun do the rest of the work. No dilution or guessing anymore. Less waste! Otherwise you will have to dilute every time you wash your car. It’ll tend to tilt and fall if the bottle is empty, otherwise it’ll be stable when filled up. Also when tipped over it’ll drip solution. Their BOSS foam cannon doesn’t do this. But for $59 it’s a great cannon from a great company.

Product seems well built, was easy to use.
I wasn’t sure how well it would work with my DeWalt 2100 psi electric pressure washer but it definitely lays down foam without issue. I used Chemical Guys green soap…
Bucket wash never again.

Out of the box this is a great cannon, it performs wonderfully even using plain old store bought car wash instead of the specialty foam cannon soaps. However after a year’s use it does require maintenance, the filter has to be changed out and it’s a pretty lengthy process that you can view on Griot’s Garage YouTube channel, and there’s the problem, the maintenance reveals some flaws, while this has an anodized aluminum chassis and it appears to hold up well externally, internally where the filter is The anodized finished is totally corroded. Also mine appeared to have been put together with a little too much super Glue (used to index certain parts) because I found that my small O-ring was glued on when I did my maintenance. By the way maintenance requires you buy a kit from Griot’s Garage, it’s about 13 bucks so it’s not expensive but not cheap since you’re probably gonna do it at least once a year. While we’re on the subject of maintenance, they advise you to rinse out your foam cannon with a cup full of clear water after every use, which I did pretty religiously though I’m not going to say I didn’t miss once or twice and I realize that your choice of soap might also Complicate the cleaning process and/or hasten corrosion. But all said and done once again this is a great product out of the box, it’s not maintenance-free and I think after you do maintenance about three or four times, it’s gonna be time for a new one because the interior is definitely corroding. Probably the only way to avoid that would be to buy a more expensive unit with a brass body.

works as it should. Be sure to properly tighten the supplied QD to prevent the connection from leaking. Seems sturdy and adjustments are easy. my complaint is that it will not stand up straight when the bottle is empty, though not an issue when filled. The wide mouth makes filling nice and convenient too. I also like the little weight at the end of the extraction tube so you don’t have to worry about working your power washer at an angle.

Please just save up and buy the MJJC Foam Cannon S. There’s no chance the MJJC will cross-thread, it’s a better user experience, way more foam output. The challenge with this foam cannon is when the soap gets into the threads and the lid slips or lose traction. It will misalign just enough to ruin the bottle. It’s not like the threads are deep to prevent this from happening. The foam it produces is solid. It’s just useless now since it won’t grip the bottle at all. Once you own the MJJC and do the quarter turn and it does a solid lock, it’s super nice that it should be a new standard for all foam cannons. The more you have to turn the bottle to screw it in, the greater the chance it will cross-thread and ruin the bottle or the lid. I’m not sure how Griot missed this in their product development.
