Genuine Chevrolet replacement part.
The “dark satin chrome” topper strip was a bit darker than original but I really liked that look better.
When replacing watch for the springs that want to fly into outer space, they are not included in kit (not mine anyways).
Easy install fix. No shift or key removal issues now.

Original shifter button has a known engineering defect. Fit perfectly except for black manual shift mode cover that wraps around, that was not defective in the original, did not fit 100% snug like original but was not needed for the installation. Came in rather quick, and installed in less tha 30 minutes. Button was redesigned to eliminate the known issue, so should not crack or fail as the original. I would recommend anyone with sonic,cruze, or trax (refer to vendor for compatibility)

Arrived in time and exactly as described. Everything worked perfectly to fix my gear shift. The only part I struggled with a bit was lining up the holes of the button in order to insert the pin. I thought for a minute I’d have to widen them a bit with a drill, but I just needed to be patient and keep adjusting until everything lined up.

Had the same old shifter button issue and this kit was a literal 10 minute fix. Watched one video on Youtube and fixed the sticking button/shift from park issue. TYVM GM for this cheap fix to a cheap issue.

This kit worked perfectly on a 2012 Sonic which was having the issue with the key coming out of the ignition. Install was fairy easy and took less than an hour – I went very slow so as to make sure I did it correctly. There are also videos out there you can watch. The kit was genuine GM. I know I saved hundreds doing this myself.

The seller shipped and packed the item well and it was received quickly.
The parts included in this kit are not what is pictured. The pin in the picture is not included, but a replacement spring is. Unfortunately you are forced to reuse the existing pin which is a tight fit for the replacement trigger assembly. I had to grab the pin with pliers and work it through the hole several times to loosen the fit enough to install it. The other major issue is that the wraparound black plastic cover drags on the manual shift buttons and causes them to stick. We don’t use this feature so it’s not a deal breaker. The shifter button does work now so I am happy with that. I just wish it didn’t cost me the other functionality. At some point I will pull the cover back off and try to trim the opening more open.

I’m not sure why such a dangerous issue has not been recalled. But, luckily this kit solves the issue for several hundred less than a trip to the stealership.
My sister-in-law complained to me about the issue knowing that I work on cars a lot. Within minutes I found this kit on Amazon and had it delivered 2 days later then installed 15 minutes later. Installation is fairly straightforward, but resources are available if needed.
If your lever is sticking quickly fix with this and stay safe.

I went on YouTube for a quick instructional on how to change out the part.
Everything was relatively smooth except when it came to lining the pin up and putting the side cover back on. Thankfully I had a small screw driver that had a mini punch attachment that I used to align the hole on the part with the hole for the pin.
As for the side cover that took a little bit to get it to snap on. I had a lot of issues trying to get the bottom of the cover to line up just right for the side to clips to connect and latch. After that it was very easy. The part worked out great and looks like it will last a long time.
