I ordered this product for a family member that was having trouble with other people stealing the fuel. This put a Stop to that and I like when the cap is locked that the cap spins which makes it very difficult to work. It locks very easy, real easy to install on a vehicle that has roughly 100,000 miles.

Does not fit 1998 to 2002 Toyota Corolla. The cap will screw on but the fuel compartment door won’t close.

This locking gas cap fit’s my 1995 GMC. Comes with two keys. Hopefully it will last for a while.

With gas prices disabling the hard-working American we need to protect our hard earned money thats being dumped at the pumps. Theives and criminals have spiked in stealing gasas out of people’s cars. My 1995 Ford doesn’t have a latch mechanism to keep the fuel door closed which means I’m an open target. Living in a crime infested neighborhood, I bought this locking fuel cap.
As one can see in the pictures I also installed a Sissinida Cabinet Locks Keyed Alike 5/8″ Cam Lock for added measure on the fuel door. Bought on Amazon in a pack of 10. The fuel door lock and the locking fuel cap are merely deterrents. Given enough time a criminal can and will take them off. Hopefully by seeing these in place the criminal moves on.

For the price, this is a great deal. Works, easy to use and works!
I did not have any issues locking or unlocking. Put on, turn righty-tighty and lock it (it’ll just slide either way once it’s locked thus avoiding theft of gasoline or cap) and unlock before turning left-loosy to remove.

I give it 4 stars for now. Time will tell if it gets 5 stars.
The last locking cap failed after a few years, but it was very possible it was caused by gas thieves. I don’t know. It’s also possible the lock mechanism failed as the cap just spins (won’t loosen or tighten). It acts like it was broken. Too bad they aren’t made out of metal like the old caps were.

These new caps have a 1/4 turn type of lock so they can be a little tricky to operate. Be patient and maybe give it a little WD40 to help.

In the end we all know these locking caps just keep out honest thieves. Like any lock, if a thief wants in.. they WILL get in. The best these locking caps do is puts a road block in their way so they’ll move on to the next sap that doesn’t have a locking cap!
