I thought this would be the cheapest way to address my “EVAP leak check” engine light. Instead the product failed: this does not work on a 2005 Toyota Corolla, as was written in description. Couldn’t make a tight seal with my tank. I learned this after my engine light came back on, making me thing the leak was more serious, so I had the car inspected at great expense just to learn that the gas cap can’t make a seal with this tank. If you buy something cheap you’ll end up paying thrice as I’m out the cost of this cap, the EVAP inspection, and the higher cost of a real quality gas cap.
Learn from my error and avoid this product, pay a little extra for better quality. This is supposed to hold back gas fumes after all, that’s worth a little more expense.

The factory cap is always the best. I removed the ring and strap from this new one and placed it on the old cap whose strap had broke. It works fine.

Had a bad seal causing my check engine line to come on in my 09 Corolla. It reset a few days after replacing the old factory gas cap with this one.

It wasn’t an exact replica for my 2016 Toyota Corolla gas cap but it worked and my check engine light turned off so that’s what matters. The little plastic piece that attaches the gas cap to the car was wonky so I ended up cutting that piece off. An okay purchase for the price.

It doesn’t seals as well as the OEM. The dash warning lights appeared. the warning lights went away once the I open and close the cap again.
