Replaced my aging fuel cap with this, fits perfectly, gasket is good, lanyard is same as the original.

I was getting the small evap leak code (P0456) on my 08 4Runner. I tried an off the shelf replacement from a discount parts store and it just came back a few months later. I then tried an OEM replacement which is what this was marketed as. So far so good, code reader shows clear and nothing in pending on not in ready state.
The bad.. build quality.. not that I expect much but this does not really exude any confidence from me in the long term. And to top everything off the rubber leash or tether broke on my installation of this cap, which is not really important to me in the long run so long as the CEL doesn’t come back.

I have a 2005 Toyota Camry that recently had its check engine light come on. I looked up the code and checked a few forums and they all said it was probably related to the gas cap. The gas cap on it was the original one that came with the car, so I figured why not spend a few dollars to see if this really was the issue. Replacing the old one with this one was a breeze. After replacing it, I did have some concerns because the light was still on. But driving it for a while was what was needed. Check Engine light gone! By far one the easiest fixes I have ever done.

It just doesn’t seem to fit. No matter how I do it, if I try to line up the notches on the inside of the neck, it immediately starts to get tight and clicks like it’s done – but it didn’t even start threading in.
I’ve given it a few weeks, multiple attempts, to no avail. So now because it’s not sitting right I just have a check engine light because of a major evap leak.

My check engine light came on the other day and I used my OBD2 scanner to check what code was pulling up. After looking up what P0456 meant, it was a small leak in the EVAP system. The cheapest option I saw online was to make sure the gas cap was sealing properly. After driving the car for another day, the check engine light didn’t turn off so I purchased this gas cap. After installing it and trying to reset the check engine light, the check engine light turned off on its own. Money well spent and gave me ease of mind my car is still in good shape.

It was a perfect fit for my 2003 Toyota Tundra V6. This item replaced the original gas cap. The original was only clicking once, this one allows me to get multiple clicks in for assurance of closure and functionality. Great product!

2005 Toyota Camry with the check engine light. I installed the cap and it was loose and definitely not sealing correctly. I removed the new seal from the cap and replaced my original seal from my original cap. Be sure to correctly reinstall as there is a 50/50 chance of installing it upside down. Cleared my check engine light with a scan tool and it has been a few weeks with no check engine light. Good stuff

The cap didn’t fit or seal properly. According to the seller it was supposed to be the right one. It wasn’t.
I should’ve realized by the price that there a good chance is wouldn’t be a quality part..
