The claim is that these are more compatible with most containers. Well I would say that these work with some and not so well with others just like others.
Your better off buying ones for your specific container so you don’t get leaks

After usage, I found that the gasket was swollen after usage. They fit my Midwest cans, but didn’t seal correctly on some of my Briggs & Stratton cans. (The example photo is from a different cap that I had tried, but this cap fit is the same for these caps). The lip inside the lid to hold the gasket is a big improvement on the ones that just have the gasket pushed in, so these are definitely better, but I did still notice the swelling on the gasket. Anyway, don’t tighten them down too hard, watch for swelling if gasoline gets on them. And if they swell, don’t tighten them otherwise you may lose the gasket into the can.
