Fits my Garmin Montana 610t perfectly. Seems to attach to my bike securely. Has nice lock-in-place feature that is a small screw, which tightens down with a provided tool, to secure the Montana into the mount. The small screwdriver that is provided can attach to your key ring. Very handy.

El soporte es firme y sujeta bien el GPS, pero dado el peso y dimensiones del Montana 610 (300 gr.) no es una tarea facil diseñar un soporte de bici para tanto peso.
La Instalacion en el manillar tiene sus fallos porque el traqueteo de la bici hacen vibrar el soporte y termina aflojandose y cayendo, sobre todo si el manillar es conico. Si se aprieta demasiado se corre el riesgo de romper la union del soporte con los tornillos.
Instalacion en la fuerza: Aqui se evitaria la oscilacion del soporte pero los tornillos son demasiado cortos y no es una opcion de instalacion.
El aparato pesa mucho y las vibraciones de la bici terminaran rompiendo el soporte, que dentro de lo malo es la mejor opcion ya que en el peor de los casos el GPS esta a salvo por el sistema de enganche que han diseñado.
Poner y quitar el GPS:
Como el GPS pesa mucho no han podido diseñar un enganche de ballesta tipo EDGE, sino que han asegurado la fijacion con un tornillito lateral que hay que apretar cada vez que se instala el GPS en la bici. Para quitarlo hay que desenroscar el tornillo y pulsar un embrague que libera el GPS del soporte.
Vamos, que no es la muerte, pero que tampoco es muy comodo de poner y quitar.
Hay que reconocer que una vez instalado el GPS queda muy firme.
Dado el peso y dimensioines del GPS no veo una solucion facil a estos problema.

El soporte ha resultado ser muy robusto y no he tenido ningún problema. Se fija perfectamente al tubo del manillar y sujeta firmemente el GPS sin que se mueva para nada.
Durante 4 años de traqueteos, golpes, caídas y mal trato, me ha dado un resultado exceptional sin ningún problema de ningún tipo.

Mounted my Montana 610 on my WR250 and I love it. I did knock off a star for two things. First, the security screw tool has a screw has cap that’s already fallen off during a ride (I put it on my keyring). They could probably use a spring loaded detent that would be more secure. Luckily I found it wedged between my fork bolts. Second the mounting screws could be a bit shorter but nothing that hampered the attachment. Over this is exactly what I was looking for! The Garmin snaps in easily and leaves room for the USB cable. Good product.

It holds my Montana gps steady but way more trouble to install/use than the ram mount I have – the ram is worth the extra money
It is quicker to put on and much easier to adjust the angle

This is the standard AMPS mount for a Garmin Montana or Monterra handheld GPS unit. It carries 2.5mm mono audio and a few power wires from the mount down the line to your battery, audio hookup, whatever. This is my third and they are all rock-simple to intstall, just screw the thing to your RAM mount or whatever you’re using as a base and off you go. I’ve got them semi-permanently installed on two Tiger 800s and a quad and they work great, even in vertical rain like the other day where my Son and I were running a pair with no problems.
PROTIP: The little silver knurled thing in the box takes apart. You’ll find a small Torx wrench for fixing the unit to the mount more “permanently” and defeating casual snatchers instead of using the button release and putting it in your pocket. Kinda handy for quick trips to the potty where you might not want to pack everything off the bike.

Its hugely large as compared to the mount I was using for a 76csx, somewhat over designed for a Montana but it is certainly suitable for the job.
Incidentally, the box also included a packet of 3 anti-glare screen protectors for the Montana which were not mentioned in the product description.
Update:
To provide a locking feature seemed somewhat strange in light of the fact that the mount itself is attached via 2 easily accessible knurled thumb nuts. A thief could remove both GPS and mount in less than a minute. I replaced the thumb nuts with 4mm nylon insert lock nuts (41 cents for 8 at Lowe’s) so that now, it at least takes a 7mm or 9/32 socket wrench to remove it or, many minutes with pliers. Also, the knurled thumb nuts didn’t work out well for me because I couldn’t keep them from loosening on rough roads without further tightening with pliers.
The lock feature is a captured torx screw. Its a good idea to use a torx driver as a key because its easily replaced if lost and few people are likely to be carrying one even if they figured out that it was preventing the GPS from releasing.
After a few months using this mount, I’ll bump the rating up to 5 provided the nuts are switched out.
For short trips away from the bike I do use the locking feature, then place my helmet over the GPS so as to make it less obvious.
