If you are using this for gasoline, the Teflon tape is useless. You need to buy special Gasoila Soft-Set Pipe Thread Sealant with PTFE Paste on the threads.

The pump worked good until the wires melted together within the pump and it doesn’t work anymore. I only used it 4-5 times for pumping fuel our of a vehicle and it broke already. I can’t seem to find anyone to talk to for support or warranty information on the pump within the website.

This product works pretty well for the money. Once you get all the fittings tight and not leaking, this pump performs well. Biggest draw back are the cheesy, cheap, junk hose clamps they send with it. Trash them and buy better quality clamps at your local hardware or automotive store. I had to modify the intake tube, cutting it short and then clamping the flexible hose to a piece of 3/4″ copper pipe that would just reach the bottom of the tank I’m pumping fluid out of, it works well. So, after a couple minor improvements, I’m glad I bought this little pump. It’s portable, operates on a 12 volt battery and works well for fueling up equipment.

Use for transferring def solution from 50 gal drums to the diesel trucks, and around the shop. Works great for that.

Did the job I needed it to do.
The nozzle hold on didn’t want to stay fully open when set all the time, but , for the money a good transfer pump

I loved the idea of this kit being a complete all in one setup with everything you need to pump fuel into a vehicle ideally. Came with the 12V pump, the standard pump supply nozzle and both the inlet and outlet hoses. Such a brilliant kit idea but you really get what you pay for in this case.
I used additional aftermarket clamps in addition to the supplied clamps because I read about the leaks due to the quality of the supplied clamps in reviews and I wanted to be proactive. I also wrapped every threaded fitting with the supplied Teflon tape. I had zero leak issues.
I used this pump to pump gasoline into my personal vehicle from my 55 gallon drum of gasoline at home in Florida during the hurricane as I know fuel stations almost always run out from people panic buying for cars and generators and I learn from the past and I plan and prep so there will not be a next time.
This pump worked great the first 2 times although the cheaply made screen filter at the end of the inlet hose the metal screen mesh filter cone seperated from the plastic base part that barbs into the inlet hose. It sinked into the 55 gallon drum so I couldn’t recover it and now the pump inlet would be exposed. Also the second run I had a hiccup where the hand nozzle wouldn’t open to transfer the gasoline. The pump was running doing it’s job at that time and from the clear hose I could see that the gasoline was fully flowing from the tank to the pump and from pump to the hand nozzle but even though the trigger on the hand nozzle was working something inside the nozzle was not releasing to open the flow. That was random and fixed itself after a few minutes of playing with the trigger.
On use number 3 I check battery for full charge, 13.2 volts amps are good at 427. So I turn on the pump and nothing happens. I check battery connections to make sure clamps have good tension and good contact. Then I look close at pump and notice it’s smoking. So I turned it off quickly and decided to make a video of it smoking. I’m just glad this happened before my 30 day return window. Otherwise I’d be out $75 of hurricane preparation investment.
I still gave it 2 stars because I understand the idea of trying to give struggling people the option of having everything in a nice affordable package. It’s a dream and the intentions are good. According to other reviews some people seemed to have lucked out with their’s with just minor leak issues which tells me these are hit or miss. They are not sabotaged intentionally to scam people. They are just made with affordable poor quality materials to save the customer money and I recognize that so I am not here to crap on the seller or the product for that. I just want people to know that especially when it comes to a product like this that is litteraly made to work with or around explosive fuels, is a huge disaster Hazzard since it is capable of overheating to the point that it starts smoking like my unit did.
People and even the seller or owner need to be aware of this so maybe they can pass the message down to the engineers who build these pumps before a catastrophe happens. The fix or tweak might be as simple as using a higher amp rocker switch or using 12 gauge wiring to the switch instead of 18 gauge. Or maybe it was the failure of the screen filter that may have allowed some fatal degree into the pump that seized it and overheated it and caused problems with hand nozzle. Who knows?
Pros:
-Hose quality
-Package deal plus
Cons:
-pump quality
-screen filter quality
-hand nozzle quality
-hand nozzle barrel tip too big for gasoline cars (diesel size fuel nozzle, does not penetrate gasoline cars fuel tank hole)

I purchased this and I had a half drained battery hooked to it. At pump super slow but then I hooked my jump pack to it or I hooked a truck to it and this thing is amazing I pumped 150 gallons out of my tank to my house tank in eight min This is the best little pump out there and for cheap.
