I checked OEM and 3rd party vender quality but I use for the filter only. I do not use motor. I do not trust in China product. It is a cheapest price than filter itself.

Purchased for a 2004 Yamaha z200 hpdi with 120 hours on it. Replaced all low pressure pumps an filters. My fuel pressure on the old pump Would not hit the max range. This solved that problem.

Purchased this to replace the HPDI pump on a 2002 Yamaha HPDI motor. The Series is a VZ150TLRA. I couldn’t stomach the $816.00 plus labor that the boat shop was going to charge me. So I figured screw it, i’ll take a shot. So far the R and R has been easy. The pump and pick up filter are direct replacement parts. I pulled out the old $816.00 pump and laid it next to this one, and I cannot visually make out any differences in the pumps, other than the old one is a little discolored from sitting in the fuel for years. The plug fits exactly the same. One note of caution there is a small plastic bushing that fits over the out put (top) nozzle that can easily be overlooked, and will seem as though the pump is not the right size. I missed this on my first attempt to install. The pump went in, but seemed loose. I discovered the bushing from the old pump laying on the deck next to the old pump. Re installed the pump with this bushing in correctly and pump fit is much better. So far I have only ran the boat on the hose. But it fires off every time first time and seems to make RPM with out any issues. Legal issues with trailer and weather have stopped me from running the boat however I will update this review when I get to actually run the boat.
Update…
Found issue with motor, fixed and finally updated all legalities. Put boat in the water and ran it. Motor ran excellent, so this pump must be working as advertised. No bogging, or missing at high demand throttle settings. So for 1/10th the price I’m really happy with the pump.

3/28/2023 Update! Still working Strong. Unbelievable actually – the original motor (which is a 2001) had stopped running. Replaced several items (filters, oil water separator, low pressure fuel pumps) initially but was very hesitant to open the vapor separator where this electric fuel pump was… much easier than expected following “Born Again Boating” video on YouTube. Went pretty well; replaced this pump a year ago, and it’s still running strong! Went 16 miles off shore last year, and she did great. Planning to do again this year. The Yamaha original pump replacement is gt. $800. I’m really blown away and wanted to post a 1 year follow up.
Original Post 3/8/2022: Bought this to replace the medium pressure Electric fuel pump on a 2001 Yamaha HPDI VZ150TLRZ. It works! Motor had stopped running while on lake – could not get pressure reading at shrader valve on VST; replaced electric fuel pump – pump delivers constant 30 psi pressure from electric pump to the high pressure pump and she runs again! HPDI motors have 4 fuel pumps; 2 Mechanical Low pressure fuel pumps (approx 2 psi) ; one electric fuel pump – this item (30-40 psi); and a High Pressure Mechanical pump (1000 psi).
As other reviewers noted, an exact replacement; removed VST and replaced (approx 2-4 hrs). VST removal was easier than expected (see below). Notes: as other stated, pop out the green electrical plug inside VST before unplugging; also, be sure to install plastic spacer and o ring on fuel outlet of pump before inserting into VST cover. Finally, one “trick” when putting gasket (and washers) back on VST – you can use marine grease to hold in place while tightening bolts – life saver (see “Born Again Boating” on YouTube “How To Clean An Outboard VST” – shows taking off, cleaning, and putting back).

Update: Oct. 2020. Still works great and no difference from OEM.
I was concerned there would be a difference in quality due to being much cheaper than OEM. This appeared to be well made and very similar to the original. Definitely saved me some money if it lasts. It’s running great on the trailer, I’ll update if anything changes once I put some hours on it. 2008 200 Yamaha HPDI.
