I have a 2006 Jaguar s-type. The odometer reads 120,000 miles, and it’s my everyday car. Sometimes, during rapid acceleration, the check engine light comes on. This can be caused by a vacuum drop in the gas tank due to a loose gas cap. (Several mechanics never suggested or agreed this as a possible cause). Compared to this new gas cap, it’s obvious the old one did not seal completely. Swapping the caps was a simple and economical solution to an annoying issue. I live in an area that doesn’t require emission inspections. For those that do, a check engine light can be a problem.
