Bought these for my daughter’s car when it was ready to replace the filters and there are two of them that go together in the airbox. These fit perfectly in her 5-Series (F10) and they actually smell pretty good. I will be honest, requires a little work to replace as the cabin air filters were relocated to under the dash in the F10s. I’m 6’2″ and as roomy as the 5 is, I didn’t exactly fit in the footwell very easy. They are in the engine compartment under the windshield on prior years. I would have given less than 5-stars for the installation rating but it’s not the manufacturer’s fault that BMW put the cabin air filters in an odd location.
Installation took about 10 minutes. Please note that you will need to move an airbag module when you are installing so make sure the car is not on and you don’t have a key fob within ignition range (close enough to use the push start. These go in under the glove box on the passenger side. There is a panel you will need to unscrew that also has the passenger knee/leg airbag attached to it. You always want to make sure the power to the car is completely off in case you are using the seat to lean/sit on during installation- it will register as a person being in the seat and the airbag could deploy for a variety of reasons- impact, bump the panel the wrong way, Karma, etc. Most oil change places won’t even offer to change these filters as they won’t mess with airbags due to liability. I’ve never installed until this set and I survived, so can you!
If you’re not comfortable/confident installing on your own, I would suggest buying these and taking the car to a local auto repair shop to install. Once the BMW Ultimate Care package expires, it’s a little over $300 for them to install the OEM air filters which don’t smell as good. BMW will not install non-OEM filters even if they do cost more.

I thought they would offer fresh breeze sent that would be more effective that vent clip freshener. They work well but no more or less than regular carbon filters.
