Very few things are easy on BMW’s but replacing the air filter could have been much worse. This Fram filter felt even more sturdy than the OEM air filter that it replaced and fit perfectly. Great value buying on Amazon vs at the dealership or car parts store.

It fits my 2014 BMW X3. As far as the performance of the filter is concerned, it’s hard to tell if it’s working or not. But, it seems fine.
