This kit solve the problem! Bought my F150 new in 2004. I’ve been living with this since the first year of purchase. Ford admits to the issue but only with a service bulletin. It is a chronic problem on all F150’s with spilt driveshafts. Doesn’t affect performance much just a BIG NUISANCE! The only solution is to drop the rear section of shaft from the differential and pull apart the splined shaft from the middle yoke. Then thoroughly clean both male and female ends. The repair kit comes only with the new boot clamp and small pack of white lubricant (I assume it is teflon grease.) Grease is applied to both ends then carefully replace the shaft making sure of alignment (mark before disassembly.) To say the least the job not so simple on standard car jacks performing work on the ground! Nevertheless now, after 15 mile test run the vehicle drives “smooth as glass” –no more CLUNK from stop to start!

This kit worked on my 2012 F150 Cured the Clunk! feels like a new vehicle. easy install correct part for the dreaded clunk (that NOBODY can diagnose) I had the clunk noise in drivetrain, was told all parts except for slip yoke in driveshaft. Mark drivetrain as it is balanced, remove from rear, clean goop off front, re-install drive clamp new seal around boot and torque to 76 lbs. Drive and enjoy!

The “slide bump” drive shaft issue on the Ford F150 is a very common problem with these trucks.
The good thing is this kit to fix the issue from Ford is a good fix and works great.
Your driving experience is greatly improved by doing this repair.

Watched Youtube video for slip yoke repair. Easy to do. New teflon white grease into splines of driveshaft makes pulling away from a stop smooth again.

Came as pictured, genuine ford product.

I’m not a mechanic and was able to perform this. Take your time, make your marks so it goes in the exact same way it came out. Fixed the slop on my 2 piece drive shaft on 2012 f150 crew 5.0.
