I have only used it once.

The charger clip works as expected to charge collar.
However, my computer would not recognize it when plugged into the computer to update software on collar. I had to buy clip from garmin for my computer to recognize collar in order to update software..
Works for charging. DOES NOT work for software upgrades. At least, my experience
