I decided to try Flat Out because using other products means re-adding sealant at least every year. The promise is that you never have to change it. That sounded good to me. I have a tire with a slow leak and decided to try Flat Out on it. It’s a standard 29 inch bike tire, not fat or plus size.

First of all, there are no instructions for how much to use in a bike tire. With Stans sealant I can get away with 2 oz or maybe 4 oz to be really safe. I started with 4 oz of FlatOut which made the tire actually usable (before it wouldn’t hold air for more than an hour). However, after about half a day the tire is noticeably going flat. I can see seepage of sealant along the side walls along with tiny bubbles. I thought it was supposed to seal leaks?

Tried adding another 2 ounces for a total of 6 now. Also rotated, rode, and shook the tire to make sure the sealant was distributed. Still bubbling and seeping along the sidewalls. Still won’t hold air.

In short, while the leak has been slowed, FlatOut did not make the tire hold air. The fact that I can see it bubbling out tells me that it’s distributed enough to cover the leaky area, it just doesn’t work. Maybe it only works for actual punctures. All I know is that it doesn’t work for me.

It worked but the valve remover tool didn’t work, the plastic was too soft and would not remove it.
Other than that it worked to stop the leaks so far.
One tire was down about a lb or two so still checking them after 4-5 days.
I used this product on my lawn tractor tires.
Two front tires and one back tire so had to use two of the Flat Out bags.
Still cheaper than buying three new tires.

So I have this in all 4 tires of mine and my wife’s E-bike tires. Last week it paid for itself easily. We were 8 miles from home when I ran over a 2.5” nail. I literally pulled the nail out, heard a hiss of air for about 2 seconds and it sealed itself up instantly. It’s been a week now and my tires solid. This stuff is fantastic and very easy to install. Everything you need comes with it. Follow the instructions and you’ll be on your way in minutes. I highly recommend this, especially if you’re like us and ride 15-20 miles from home. This stuff saved me!!!

Cannot rate this FlatOut highly enough, Worth every penny and would recommend this to everyone with a bike, car ect. as this really does as it says. I somehow got a big thorn in my rear tyre and I just pull it out with Pliers and no air was lost as the FlatOut fills it immediately. No more patching tubes with this brilliant stuff. Anything up to half an inch it will stop a puncture. Highly recommended as the first time I bought it I had to get it from America as nowhere here had it, so when I saw it on Amazon.co.uk I purchased a gallon immediately. I had a 2 inch screw stuck straight through my rear wheel 10/06/23 and just screwed it out and you could hear it bubbling then spun my wheel for a short time then pumped up my tyre again to the recommended PSI and that was it repaired then went out for a run as recommended and Boom! Job done. Superb and so easy as well. Cmon Amazon.co.uk get stocked up please as this is a best seller and people are having to buy it from America!

I’ve got a big, fat tire electric bike that weighs about 80 pounds unloaded.
I Started getting flat tires. Having to walk my bike home 5 miles with a flat is not fun.

Fixing a big fat tire flat is a slow and time consuming process.
Regular bike levers usually won’t do the job. I have to use motorcycle tire spoon levers to fix a flat.
Its not something I’d want to do on a hot summer day, or in the middle of a downpour, or with sleet and snow hitting me in the face, my hands freezing barely able to hold the tire levers. Changing a flat on a electric bike, the power cable connector has to be disconnected, zip ties holding the power cable have to be cut, or electrical tape holding the cable in place has to be cut.
Doing all this in a rain storm could be a very electrifying experience in a bad way.

I started looking for a better way, a better solution to prevent flat tires.
After watching several YouTube videos about different solutions.
I tried the Tannus Armour foam liner, right away I got a flat with that and I still had to walk five miles home with a flat tire. It made rolling my bike on a flat even more difficult.
Once home, I had to cut the tire liner with a pair of scissors, just so I could remove the tire liner and pull out the bad inner tube. The tire liners are expensive, and didn’t work for me.

I went back to YouTube, watched more videos on how to prevent flat tires.

I stumbled upon some YouTube videos about flatout tire sealant.
One of the Youtube videos shows a guy using flatout and then putting nails and drilling holes into his bike tire, and the FlatOut sealed the nail punctures and the drill holes.

I was so impressed, I bought a couple gallons of flatout. There are different grades of flatout specific to the kind of tire. They have a grade for motorcycle tires that I use on my fat tire bike and a grade for regular sized bikes that I bought for my other bikes.

The flatout really works. I’d go through nails, screws, big staples, and glass, get all kinds of punctures, and the flatout sealant would squirt out the holes and I’d just keep my bike going at a nice and steady speed, and the tire would seal.
It’s important to keep the bike rolling when you’re experiencing a flat. It helps the tires seal properly. If you were just to pull over and stop your bike the sealant wont seal as well. So keep on rolling when you get that flat.
Sometimes the sealant will get on the fender or the side of the bike. The sealant is non-toxic and is easy to wipe off.
I had nine or ten punctures in the tire before I finally decided to put in a fresh inner tube and more flatout.
Since using FlatOut, I haven’t had to walk my bike home.

I wish I had known about this product years ago.

Highly recommend for e bike tubes. This stuff works as advertised! I have an Ariel Rider Kepler with 26×4 in. tires with over 8000 miles. I had a large screw puncture my tire and after pulling it out, the Flat Out sealed it in seconds. I added air and was on my way!

  7. Cobra Pilot

Have installed on both my E Bikes after much research on YouTube. So far I’ve had NO Flats. I first used green slime and tire liners on my 1st E bike and neither of these stopped the Goatheads from flattening both front and back tires Multiple times. If you own a rear hub e bike with a shimano shifter you know how much of a hassle it is to re &re a rear wheel change. Green slime won’t reseal a puncture like Flat out will!!!

So far so good! Used it on my fat tire commuter bike. Gives me a sense of security knowing I can make it home if I get a puncture in my tire when I’m far from home. Excellent product!

I ride an ebike to and from work and I get flat tyres all the time… probably 60 or more in the past 3 years. Spent over $1000 on new puncture resistant tyres and tubes and inserts…nothing worked to prevent Flats…then I bought flat out and I tried it after running over a nail on the way home from work. It’s been about 3 weeks and my tyre is still solid and holding pressure…I’m very happy I bought this stuff! Very easy to use just remove the core from the valve stem and squeeze some flat out in the put the core back in and air up and spin the tyre…you may have to put more air in after the spin because the flat out takes a moment to do it’s thing….but after that you’re good to go! Sealed up tight and no mess

At first I thought it didn’t work but patience is key.
