This dye applies easily and is quickly absorbed into the leather. I used it on two leather jackets, one about ten years old and one vintage (a flight jacket over 40 years old). If anything the flight jacket took the dye better than the newer jacket. The only issue is that one must be very patient and careful while applying the dye to get even coverage. I hung the jackets on hangers in my garage and applied the dye while they were hanging upright. Some dripping is unavoidable. I wouldn’t do it anywhere near carpeting.

Worked great to dye a blue bag brown. It is quite dark and watery- be careful. Have never done this before and was very easy and satisfying! Also used the sealant by the same brand. Think that is key. Made it shiny but not tacky.

Fantastic stuff. My rather expensive ($280.00 35 years ago) attache case had LOTS of scuffs and the welting was down to raw leather. This dark brown matched quite well. It took about 4 applications to cover the battle scars of all the years that it has serviced my needs. It looks almost like new. I HIGHLY recommend this product. The small bottle was more than enough to cover my case. I used a 1/2 inch brush to apply the dye and then buffed as the instructions suggest.

The dye is the absolute PERFECT color. This one is a very deep chocolate. I love it. It is very easy to apply, just don’t let it overlap any more than possible & wipe it right away if you do, same as any of this type of dye. I bought some… oh, good I forget what they’re called. Little twisted wire handles with cotton bobbles on one end. Dye-spreaders, in my world.
I had tried other products (shoe polish etc.) but this one had the magic words “upholstery leather” in the description.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I bought more to dye a couch. And maybe two chairs.

Ok, that’s just awesome. Trying to save a bedraggled dak-brown “leather” chair (any leather bought from Ashley Furniture is questionably named), and made the second questionable decision to buy a “Furniture Clinic” leather restoring kit. The filler worked ok, but the “re coloring balm” was a bad joke. So I was left with a half-white, half-dark-brown monstrosity. Fiebings to the rescue! This stuff is like an attack dog for leather, filler, cloth, anything. It’s super dark brown, nearly black, which happened to work well for me, but be aware these colors run dark. Chair looks great, went on evenly, penetrates like hell. Got a half bottle left, I think I’m gonna relabel it as “Dixie face lotion” and give it to my racist co-worker. Probably help change his outlook.

I was this close (gesturing with my fingers) to buying a new leather chair and sticking the old one in some inconspicuous location, but thought I’d give this leather dye a try. Although less than 2 years old, the chair’s dark brown color was rubbing off in certain places, leaving ugly orange patches. This product made it look almost new. Just be very careful. If this stuff gets on your carpet, clothes, etc, say goodbye to it. Wear heavy duty plastic gloves that will not tear, unlike the cheap ones I purchased. Put down a drop cloth and wear clothes that could be tossed. I didn’t follow instructions exactly. I didn’t use the deglazer or the sealer. I cleaned the spots with alcohol to remove oils. Then just applied the dye that I poured into a plastic container with a paper towel in a circular motion. Waited about 30 minutes and buffed with microfiber cloth a few times. Even if this wears off in a few months, I’ll just dye it again. Very happy with results.

I’m no pro, but have been successful at recoloring various leather jackets. While primarily intended for shoes, info indicated this product can be used for other leather items. Before ruining your $2,000.00 lambskin, I recommend first practicing with something you don’t mind throwing out. I use disposable foam brushes of various widths, and do one section at a time, systematically. You’ll need 2 coats, so don’t panic when the first coat looks rotten. But do everything you can to eliminate streaks. Wipe excess away with a paper towel. The stuff dries quickly, so you need to work fast. Be sure to get the reducer, as this helps to keep the dye wet & workable. It’s important to have plenty of light, and be careful handling the liquid. It splashes & drips very easily. Wear old clothes because the stains will not come out. Disposable gloves are also a must. Good luck!

It cover my entire bag and toke 3 times to cover the scratches but it worked. Once it dry a clean wipe has to be done but even after weeks my shirts are stain. I am not saying that this product is bad but maybe I did not know how to use it. I just sanded paper the leather, wipe, applied, applied after 10 minutes, then again and let dry for hours, then wipe and done but still stain.
